10 weirdest Devil Fruits in One Piece

Not all powers are cool.

Devil Fruits are one of the core components in One Piece power scaling. These mythical fruits grant their eater supernatural abilities. Most of the time, that means boosting their fighting abilities multifolds. However, with the variety of power these fruits bestow, not everything is as straightforward as turning the user’s body into fire. In fact, some Devil Fruits are straight-up weird. Interestingly, some of the weirdest Devil Fruits are those that seem rather ordinary.

Unusual powers aren’t particularly surprising in fiction. But with Devil Fruits possibly manifestations of people’s greatest wishes, then it makes me wonder who in their right mind wouꦜld wan💝t these ten abilities.

Paw-Paw Fruit

Upon eating the Paw-Paw Fruit, the user gets the softest paw pads on their palms. These paws are not only cute but are surprisingly overpowered, too. They can repel anything and everything. In fact, the Straw Hat Pirates were once separated by thousands of kilometers when Kuma used his powers to send them to Sabaody Archipelago. However, sending people flying isn’t its only ability.

These paws can also nullify physical attacks. Despite Zoro’s swordsmanship, his swords once failed to deal any damage to Kuma’s paws. Furthermore, the Paw-Paw Fruit grants its eater the ability to manifest people’s pain, stress, and fatigue into a gigantic paw bubble. Anyone who touches this bubble would suffer what it contains.

Munch-Munch Fruit

As its name suggests, the Munch-Munch Fruit gives its consumers an eating ability. The Munch-Munch Fruit user gets to expand their mouth beyond normal means. In Wapol’s case, his mouth can grow bigger than his entire body. Unsurprisingly, the Devil Fruit also allows its user to consume virtually anything. Wapol used the Munch-Munch Fruit’s powers to eat weapons, ships, and even people. However, the most surprising thing is that the user can also consume themselves.

Whatever the user eats, they can repurpose it into whatever they wish. Wapol usually devours weapons to turn his body parts into them. He also gives his underlings a power-up after gobbling them. It isn’t just all benefits. Consuming the Munch-Munch Fruit will also give the eater a constant feeling of hunger, forcing them to munch on whatever is within sight.

Soot-Soot Fruit

The Soot-Soot Fruit sounds weird, but it does grant some interesting abilities. Based on what Karasu of the Revolutionary Army has shown in the series, the user acquires a soot body. Karasu uses this characteristic to turn into countless crows. Since it’s a Logia Devil Fruit, each of these crows can’t be damaged by physical attacks. With mastery of the ability, the user can also control each part. As such, Karasu can control each of his crows.

What exactly makes this Devil Fruit weird, you ask? It’s specifically because it’s soot. Regardless of how cool Karasu commands his abilities, it doesn’t change the fact that he has turned into a soot human. Plus, what kind of person would actually wish to become soot?

Perona and her negative hollows in One Piece

Hollow-Hollow Fruit

The Hollow-Hollow Fruit is undeniably the most negative Devil Fruit, which also makes it one of the weirdest Devil Fruits. It’s a Paramythia Devil Fruit that allows its user to generate ghost-like entities called hollows. Just like typical ghosts, these hollows are intangible, though they can be seen. Interestingly, anyone that these hollows pass through will get their will and motivation sucked out of them. They will only feel negativity.

However, it does have its uses. The Hollow-Hollow 𝔍Fruit can also generate explosive ghosts, making them its only offensive attack. The user can also create a hollow in their likeness, giving their combat style some variety. Nonetheless, its greatest strength lies in reconnaissance. The user ca𒈔n use the hollows to spread out and gather intel, especially since the hollows can pass through walls and objects.

Berry-Berry Fruit

Pirates aren’t the only ones to possess a curious Devil Fruit ability. Captain Berry Good of the Marines has consumed the Berry-Berry Fruit, granting him the ability to separate his body into numerous balls. He can then control these balls as he wishes. In Captain Berry Good’s case, he uses his balled body parts as cannonball-like projectiles.

At a glance, the power is clearly a more bizarre version of the Chop-Chop Fruit since the user can only separate their body parts by turning them into balls. While it does allow the user to nullify blunt attacks, it doesn’t make them invulnerable to slashing attacks. In addition, it’s all over once the user’s head is caught.

Wring-Wring Fruit

The Wring-Wring Fruit bestows a really unique ability, even in the world of f🐲iction. At the same time, it’s both interesting and peculiar. Consumed by Charlotte Smoothie, the Wring-Wring Fruit grants the eater the ab𒀰ility to drain liquid from anything and anyone by wringing like a wet cloth.

The user can use the extracted liquid to increase their body mass or shoot them as pressurized blasts. More interestingly, however, the act of wringing doesn’t physically harm the target, no matter how severe the wringing. On the contrary, it even seems to provide a pleasurable experience. In addition, the extracted liquid is actually potable, with tastes varying depending on🐠 the source. As a matter of fact, Smoothie was even able to make potable lava juice from a volcanic rock.

Pocket-Pocket Fruit

The Pocket♏-Pocket Fruit is a rather straightforward one. It provides its eater the ability to create unlimited pockets on their bodies. Each pocket can hold objects much bigger than the opening, much like Capon🌞e Bege’s Castle-Castle Fruit. Surprisingly, that’s pretty much its function.

The Whitebeard Pirates’ former Sixth Division Captain, Blamenco, is the latest user of this Devil Fruit. He then uses it to store his weapon of choice, a humongous hammer bigger 🀅than him.

Jacket-Jacket Fruit

Upon the revelation of Vegapunk’s theory, the Jacket-Jacket Fruit becomes a real head-scratcher. Much like the Pocket-Pocket Fruit, it only has one function. This Paramythia Devil Fruit lets its users turn themselves into a full-body skin jacket, mak🉐ing them a Jacket Human. The elde🃏r Funk brother, Kelly Funk, has this Devil Fruit, which he uses to joice forces with his timid brother. After Kelly turns into a jacket and Bobby wears him, Kelly takes control of Bobby’s physique.

The real question, however, is who would have wished to become a jacket. While possession is a reasonable wish, doing so by turning it into a wearable garment doesn’t seem to be the best way to do so. To make matters worse, it doesn’t seem like the Jacket-Jacket Fruit user can force others to wea𒁃r them, as Bobby was seen voluntarily donning his brother in jacket form.

Wash-Wash Fruit

The other Marine who possesses one of the weirdest Devil Fruits is Vice Admiral Tsuru. She consumed the Wash-Wash Fruit, turning her into a Washer Human. However, she doesn’t just clean dirt from her targets. She literally cleans evil from their hearts — although 🌞just a tad bit.

What’s interesting about her abilities, however, is how it is used. As a Washer Human, Tsuru can wash and hang her targets like fresh laundry. Her unfortunate opponents are then turned into 2D installations that are unable to move or retaliate. But for whatever it’s worth, they all seemed very comfortable and satisfied in that situation.

Viscount Hiyoko in One Piece

Egg-Egg Fruit

Devil Fruits are often very straightforward. For instance, the String-String Fruit turns its user into a String Human, while the Human-Humaꦓn Fruit grants its eater the ability to turn into a human. The Egg-Egg Fruit, however, doesn’t fall into this convention. It more than just turns its consumer into a feeble egg. Despite being a Zoan Devil Fruit, ꧒the Egg-Egg Fruit doesn’t allow its user to freely transform into an animal, though it does grant three forms.

Th൩e user’s base form is an egg. In Tamago’s case, that is Baron Tamago. He will only enter the second form, Viscount Hiyoko, once the egg is broken. The second form grants him a boost in battle prowess. But should Viscount Hiyoko prove insufficient in battle, he will transform into Count Niwatori. Should he still be defeated in his final form, he will simply revert back to Baro𝓰n Tamago, making it harder to kill him in battle.
