Here’s hoping they don’t patch this out too quickly
Are you still having trouble with that jump rope challenge in Super Mario Odyssey? With the old of dealing with the challengꦏe now patched and the scoreboards wiped, it was only a matter of time before someone found another way. But, I never imagine🅺d it would be this hilarious.
Twitter user (who is clearly proficient at breaking the game if you check out his tweets) showcases a brilliant new way of dealing with this challenge. In order to do it, you’ll need to be able to possess the Mario letters in New Donk City (which in order to even access, you’ll need to have beaten Bowser first). From there, you’ll have to do some glitching to clip out of the letter boundaries.
I’m sorry Nintendo…

To clip out of bounds, first you’ll need to move the letters A, R, and M off to the side, together, and make sure they’re positioned like in the video below. (I’m not 100% certain on this, but I do think the positioning of the letters matters.) Once that’s done, you’ll want to grab the scooter and jump with it towards M, with the scooter landing and resting on the M itself, then quickly jump off the scooter and possess the M.
This may take a few tries, but, if done correctly, the M will begin to move on its own (while still being stuck in place). Then quickly jump out and possess the R next to it. From there, you should be able to move about as the R anywhere within New Donk City (inc🔥luding to that pesky challenge)!
I’m all for this and glad that nobody has to go through the hell of doing this legitimately. If you managed it legitimately, kudos to you. Personally, I spent hours attempting to get that moon to no avail.
I tried every method I could find, from listening to the rhythm of the person saying “hey!” for each jump, to not looking at the screen itself as Mario jumps, to even attempting it with the scooter. In the end, I gave up and abused the Talkatoo glitch and have zero reg♚rets doing it.
