New Super Mario Bros. Wii completed with feet and head while playing the soundtrack

Wes () was able to finish New Super Mario Bros. Wii at a breakneck pace while playing the game’s soundtrack on a piano at AGDQ. The speedrunner was able to do this by tilting his head left and right for movement with one Joycon. Forward and back movements correspond to the spin and ducking motion that Mario performs in the platformer. Another Joycon is by his feet. His toes press the run button while the ball of his feet presses down the thumb stick, which makes Mario jump.

As he’s playing the game, he uses his hands to play the soundtrack of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Sometimes it’s a bit shaky as he tries to move Mario, commentate, and play the piano at the same time, but honestly, it’s an impressive sight. Many people struggle to do just one or two of those things at the same time.

If that’s not compelling enough, he then completed 1-1 with a blindfold on, in addition to playing the piano and the game. Funnily, the piano is not his main instrument. “I do write the arrangements to fit my skill level, and that’s one thing to know is that you don’t have to be an amazing musician to do this,” said Wes during the AGDQ stream.
