The latest update is on the smaller side, but it’s likely a welcome sight for anybody stuck due to a bug. Last week’s update brought a whopping 200 improvements and fixes to the game, covering everything from lip-syncing to overall polish. However, there was one that came back — ironically enough, just like an echo.

Latest Alan Wake 2 update fixes Hotel progress-halting issues again (maybe)

The last patch attempted to fix an Echo not aligning correctly in the Oceanview Hotel Lobby. Remedy itself called it “annoying” while issuing an apology. The bug has been a hard one to squash and is addressed once more in the new patch. Remedy writes that it was “fixed in the previous update, but Echo hell still persisted.”

Here are the patch notes via Remedy:

  • Xbox Series
    • A workaround fix for the issue where the audio cut out intermittently in the Prologue. We are expecting a full fix for this issue in an upcoming update.
  • ROOM 665
    • Fixed an issue (again) with the Echo scene not aligning and unlocking correctly (this was fixed in the previous update, but Echo hell still persisted)
  • LOCAL GIRL
    • Fixed an issue with a mouse (with a big presence) blocking progress.

Hopefully, Remedy managed to slay the Echo dragon once and for all. Of course, we’ll know for sure when the next update rolls our way.

Remedy is also working on an update that will add New Game Plus mode to Alan Wake 2. 💝There is no solid release date for it, but the mode will add new Manuscript pages and video content to slightly alter the narrative.
