Burst fire weapon challenges made easy.

There aren’t many reasons to use a burst-fire weapon in Modern Warfare 3 unless it’s for a new challenge. For the most part, these guns are fairly weak and their slow rate-of-fire can’t compete with fully automatic options.

Additionally, some automatic weapons can be switched to burst-fire mode, but it only makes them worse. You have a few options if you’re looking to complete burst-fire weapon challenges in MW3.

All burst-fire weapons you can equip and use in Modern Warfare 3 is listed below.

  • M16 (Modern Warfare 2 weapon available in MW3)
  • FR 5.56
  • DG-56
  • Renetti

The first three are assault rifles, which you equip in your primary weapon slot. However, the Renetti is a pistol that goes into your secondary slot. If you’re working on burst-fire kills for a challenge, it might be worth equipping the Renetti along with one of these AR options, ensuring every kill is with burst weapons.

Additionally, the Renetti is probably the best burst-fire weapon in Modern Warfare 3. Due to a slow rate-of-fire and bullet velocity, assault rifles can be difficult to get kills with, especially in sweaty lobbies of players using fully automatic guns. If you’re able to move around the map quickly in close quarters, or just play the small map playlist, the Renetti pistol is very strong.

What is a burst-fire weapon?

Burst-fire weapons are any that shoot a fewꦓ bullets with a single press of the trigger. Not like a single-fire weap🤡on or a fully-automatic one. Those shoot single bullets with each trigger pull, or all bullets until you release the trigger, respectively. Marksman rifles, battle rifles, and other single-shot assault rifles do not count toward these challenges.

Typically, Call of Duty and Warzone variations of the past go through their burst-fire phases. One gun is usually really good for a while, then it gets nerfed൩ into the ground ൲and no one ever uses it again.
