Palworld is a game that encourages players to explore every inch of the map in order to find secrets, hidden items, and useful resources. Dungeons, instanced areas that have players exploring caves before defeating a final Alpha Boss, are one such secret.
If you’ve played Palworld for any length of time, you’ll have stumbled across a Dungeon at least once. They show up in the game as a black hole in the cliff face surrounded by trees or other foliage, which help them to blend into the area, and when you approach them, you’re given information about t💟he level of the final Alpha Pal that you’ll face within.
The problem arises when you go back to a place where you’ve previously found a Dungeon. In Palworld, these Dungeons are not always present in the same place and work on a timer, disappearing once that countdown ends and reappearing elsewhere after some time. In other words, they’re time-limited, so you’ll want to dive in whenever you find one.
There are a variety of different Dungeons within Palworld, ranging from the easiest to complete at level 13 all the way up to the most difficult anꦫd recently added Feybreak Dungeons, which sit at level🦋 55. Each cavern can only spawn in sp𓂃ecific locations, but each offers a chance to encounter different Alpha Pals and usefu🐼l loot.
Alpha Pal bosses
Each Dungeon has an Alpha Pal waiting at the end of it for you to defeat, and in doing so, you’ll earn some rewards. The Alpha Pal at the end will depend on which of the dungeons you’re taking on, so it’s worth learning who can show up where.
Dungeon rewards
There are chests scattered throughout dungeons that contain the usual items, like Gold, Bread, and other goodies. The real rewards come at the end of each Dungeon though, because not only do you get Ancient Civilization Parts♉ for defeating the final Alpha Pal in every Dungeon, there are two chests waiting for you before you l♐eave.
In these chests, you’ll often find Schematics, valuable treasures, and accessories that can boost a myriad of stats. On top of this, there is a chance that you will get some Technical Manuals, which can be used to gain 𒈔extra Technical Points.
Hillside Cavern (Lv. 13)
Hillside Cavern is a level 13 Dungeon that spawns only in the Windswept Hills. Because of this, it’s likely to be the first Dungeon you stumble upon and will serve as your introduction to what Dungeons are like🅠 within Palworld.

Isolated Island Cavern (Lv. 13)
Isolated Island Cavern is a level 13 Dungeon that can spawn on the i🉐slands to the southeast of the main isla🎶nd of Galapagos. Thanks to its low level and spawn points b♛eing close to the starting area of🔯 the game, it’s relatively easy to complete pretty early on in your journey.

Ravine Grotto (Lv. 19)
Once you’ve got a feel for the level 13 dungeons above, you can venture forth and try to find the level 19 Ravine Grotto. Found all across t♒he Bamboo Groves of the centಌral island of Palpagos, Ravine Grotto takes things up a notch, and you’re likely to find slightly more challenging fights within this Dungeon.

The next level jump is a whole 10 levels to 29, and this Dungeon, the Mountain Stream Grotto, can be ཧfound in the Verdant Brook and Moonless Shore areas of Galapagos. Of course, with the slightly higher level, the fights inside get harder, and the rewards reflect this. Mountain Stream G🍸rotto is the first Dungeon in which you can possibly find Innovative Technical Manuals.

This is where Dungeon diving starts to get really interesting. Jumping up to an average level of 38, these Dungeons can be found in the Desiccated Desert. On the plus side, the Alpha Pals that you meet at the end of these dungeons are likely to drop more items, including rarer items such as valuable treasures. Make sure to take both Heat and Cold Resistant Armor, though.

Volcanic Cavern (Lv. 40)
If you’re on a mission to get some high-level fire-type Pals to boost your chances of taking down Frostallion, this level 40 Dungeon is an excellent place to start. Volcanic Cavern only spawns, as the name suggests, in the volcanic area surrounding Mount Obsid♔ian. You’ll want to take some Heat Resistant Armor with you, as well as plenty of ammunition and some water-type Pals.

Last but by no means least, you’ll be able to head into Sacred Mountain Cavern when your level reaches about 45. This Dungeon only spawns a๊round the Astral Mountains, 🐟so you’ll find a whole host of ice-type Pals to capture or kill. If you’re heading here, make sure to take some Cold Resistant Armor and plenty of fire-type Pals to aid you in your endeavors.

Cherry Blossom Cave (Lv. 52)
The Sakurajima update in June 2024 added 15 new caves to explore, all of which are located on the island of Sakurajima itself. With the increased level cap comes more challenging encounters with both regular and Alpha Pals, but these Dungeons also offer a chance to get your hands on items that aren’t available anywhere else, such as Large Lotus Flowers and Slab Fragments that you can use to summon Boss Pals.
The Alpha Pals in this Dungeon are beefed-up versions of some of the Pals that wereౠ added along with the update, including:

Feybreak Dungeon (Lv. 55)
Feybreak was the second major update to Palworld, added in December 2024. It added a new dungeon named after the island on which it can be found, and the Feybreak Dungeon is a level 55 experience, the highest level currently available in Palworld. As such, it’s important to go armed with weapons and ammunition, as well as high-level Pals to aid you.
However, venturing inside is worth the effort because the fo🅠llowing incredibly strong Alpha Pals can appear at the end of the Dungeon:
