To build a champion team in Madden 25‘s Franchise mode, you’ll have to pay plenty of attention to player tags and motivations.
Tags and motivations will play a part in both the development of a player and how long they will continue on your team. While EA Sports has made some changes in this year’s Franchise mode, I have discovered the same tags and motivations so far. Let’s take a look at all of them and their respective roles in Franchise mode.
Disclaimer: The list is based on Madden 24 and manual scouting. Any new tags/motivations✤ dis🔯covered will be updated in the tables.
All player tags in Madden 25 Franchise mode
Tags help to differentiate ༒between players ൩and how they react with different factors. For example, the the Award Winner tag makes any Free Agent a lot more attractive if they have won a seasonal award. Similarly, other tags could help an athlete develop quicker and improve their in-game attributes.
Tags | Effect |
---|---|
Award Winner | Free Agents who have won season-end rewards will have higher demand from teams. |
Bridge Player | Starters with this tag could go down in depth chart eventually and teams will try to seek out their replacements. |
Bridge QB | Bridge Player tag, but for the QB position. |
Day One Starter | Players with this tag will likely develop into star players, and they can start over older players even if the latter have better overall ratings. |
Franchise QB | This tag is used to denote the best QBs in the NFL. |
Future Starter | This players have better chances of replacing older players, and receive more XP from training to aid their development. |
Mentor | Mentors help teammates gain more XP on a weekly basis if they share the same position. |
QB of the Future | It’s the Day One Starter tag, but for QBs. |
Trade Target | Athletes with this tag are likely going to be put on the trading block. |
All Madden 25 player motivations
Motivations can ⛄be considered as the other side of the coin, as they determine how the a💫thletes react in the game.
Motivations | Effects |

Head Coach Historic Record | Player wants to play for a coach with proven winning record. |
Highest Offer | Player wants to play for the team who can offer him the biggest salary. |
Historic Championships | Player wants to play for a team that has won the Championship at least once in the past. |

Make sure to pay attenꩵtion to the motivations of player𝓀s on your roster. Some of them might refuse to renew their contracts, while other athletes with fair motivations will be easily tied down to a long contract.
