However, we can confirm that Atomfall is all kinds of strange and intriguing. In what is arguably Rebellion’s most ambitious game in years, Atomfall plꦚops you into a post-apocalyptic Britain to eke out a living scavenging the land while solving a gripping mystery. Idyllic green hills and ancient castles await in the game, along with those iconic red phone booths that appear seemingly out of nowhere.

We’ll know what that all means when Atomfall hits its March 27, 2025 release date on Xbox One, Xbox🃏 Series X|S, PS5, PS4, and and the .

Atomfall gives you resources to gather and a mystery to solve

Atomfall is a survival game, which likely means punching trees for crafting materials and sucking the dew off plants for nourishment. The land provides supplies to find and resources needed to craft weapons and other goodies. Judging by the screenshots, that’ll also include bits of wood to make armor and cloth for clothing — which is good since it can get cold in merry ol’ England.

But there is also that omnipresent mystery. The destruction was caused by a nuclear disaster in Northern England, and it’s up to you to figure out what happened. Within the quarantine zone are military encampments and bunkers to explore, along with creepy ruins. All the while, you’ll find yourself at odds with antagonistic groups that seem to love wooden effigies. The real-world Windscale nuclear disaster in 1957 inspired the story of Atomfall.

Rebellion also announced pre-order bonuses for Atomfall. Those who pre-purchase the game get a Basic Supply Bundle that includes an exclusive melee weapon variant, metal detector skin, and more. A Deluxe Edition contains the basic bundle along with an Enhanced Supply Bundle and a story expansion. The Deluxe Edition also lets purchasers play the game three days early because that’s the trend these days.
