Baldur’s Gate 3 Cross-play

No longer will PS5, Xbox and PC players have to play separately, as Patch 8 is finally making cross-play a thing. You can join your friends by either ❀joining their lobby or creating your own and having them join in.

If you want to try out cross-play with your friends who still don’t have access to the stress test, PlayStation and Steam users can to link their game accounts and request extra Patch 8 stress test keys.

Larian recommends console players to serve as the hosts if they are to cross-play with PC players. You can add friends via the Larian Network. Just click on the + icon from the Create Lobby screen during cross-play set-up, enter their name, and send your request. Once they have accepted your invite, you’ll be able to invite them to your lobby.

More details regarding cross-play below:

Using mods during cross-play

While Larian recommends console owners to host the cross-play lobbies, it’s also possible to join PC modded lobbies. The PC host can’t have more than 100 mods installed on their save and only have mods accepted by console and Mac. These mods are marked as “Available on Mac and Console” when browsing the mods. Alternatively, a mod mismatch will occur, and you won’t be able to join the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Xbox Series S Split-Screen Co-Op

The series S will be denied no longer, as Xbox Series S owners will finally be able to go on cozy couch co-op Baldur’s Gate 3 sessions with their friends.

Larian also addressed how some PS5 players accidentally stumbled upon Patch 8 a little earlier than expected. That was not intended on the studio’s part, but it’s not a problem. Players can rollback to Patch 8 by deleting and reinstalling the game. More details on that .
