While simple board games are great, there’s a special place in my heart for the most overly complicated games that require setting up and in-depth knowledge to play. At first, these games are a pain for newcomers because they must be learned and enjoyed, but once you’ve mastered them, they’re so much fun to play. I don’t think it gets much better than starting a game with a blank board and ending it with one filled with miniatures or a giant sculpture everybody’s worked to craft over the last few hours.
