Which option should you choose?
If you just started Minecraft Legends, you more than likely will play the Campaign mode first. It’s where the game naturally points you, especially if youജ’re playing solo. That said, before you even begin your adventure, you’ll have to decide which difficulty you want to play on. This can be overwhelming for a first🅺-time player.
Right off the bat, it should be noted that you can change your game’s difficulty setting at any time in Minecraft Legends. If you aren’t happy with the difficulty you’re playing on for any reason, you can always go back and change it. That said, it’s challenging to make that initial choice if you don’t know exactly how hard each difficulty setting is. Let’s break it down.
For most players, Fabled is a great starting pick
Fabled is the default difficulty setting, and it’s how I initially experienced the campaign. This is a good overall choice if you don’t know which difficulty to pick. Minecraft Legends takes a while to get the hang of, so the early part of the campaign will be easy enough to let you learn how the game works. Meanwhile, as you progress further in the game, the challenge will ramp up and test your mastery of the mechanics you have learned. It’s a balanced difficulty setting, making it a good choice for beginners.
That said, if you are completely new to strategy games, the Storied difficulty may be for you📖. Relative to Fabled difficulty, Storied features weaker enemies, more plentiful units, and fewer attacks from Piglins. This will make the campaign mode more “cozy,” letting you focus on exploration without any fear of danger. If Fabled winds up being too frustrating for you, turn the difficulty down to this.
Meanwhile, if you are playing with friends, consider turning up the difficulty to Mythic. This option is the opposite of Storied; you’ll contend with more Piglin bases and res🌄ilient enemies. Turning up the difficulty may be a better match for groups that can better tackle the challenges in the game, but as always,ꦚ feel free to turn down the heat if the game gets too hard.
The final difficulty option is Legendary, which is specifically intended for expert players. Unless you want to ensure that your campaign lasts for as long as possible, I wouldn’t pick Legendary. Save this for later if you beat the campaign and want more, as this should present a healthy challenge for anyone who has mastered this game’s mechanics.
