Best Support heroes in Marvel Rivals ranked (Season 0)

The support characters in Marvel Rivals, aka the Strategists, are certainly in a peculiar 𝔍spot.

In my 30 hours spent so far on the full launch, I have decided to switch to the role purely because nobody else will. While Duelists and Vanguards have been getting all the love, Strategists can completely change the tide of battle if they know how to play the characters well. You can pick between seven characters at present, and here’s how I will rank them based on their abilities and performance.

7. Cloak & Dagger

Cloak & Dagger’s greatest strength is perhaps their greatest weakness. It’s a flexible support character who can play a hybrid role. Unfortunately, that’s not what you would want on a support character. If you’re using Cloak, you lose all your abilities to heal and become a hybrid-DPS. The current roster has no shortage of those, which means that you’ll want to spend more time as Dagger.

Dagger has good healing potential, but it’s let down in the grand scheme of things. Her ability to heal is identical to how Cloak damages an enemy. The requirement to consistently switch between the two becomes hectic, and a good enemy is not going to afford you the time.

6. Loki

The God of Mischief is a good character, and he can be a great character in the right hands. However, I don’t think he works well as a support. His ability to create illusions can be useful in certain occasions, as they can often prevent the enemy from targeting you in the first place. Sadly, good support has to heal, and Loki falls off massively in his department.

If you pick him, you’ll mostly have to play as a Duelist and rely on his damage output. Combine that with the illusions, and you can often catch an enemy off guard. When it comes to healing, however, let someone else do the job.

5. Mantis

This one is a hard placement, as I love Mantis. She’s really average in many ways, and Luna Snow is better than her in every area (their Ultimate have similarities). That said, Mantis is pretty easy to manage, and she’s a decent healer.

For her to rank up, the abilities will n🥃eed a buff in future patches. That will certainly make her a lot more viable in the competitiv🙈e meta. Right now, there are more meta alternatives when it comes to the Strategist role.

4. Luna Snow

Luna Snow has the biggest damage potential among all Strategists, and she’s an equally effective healer. Additionally, a good Luna in a well-prepped team will be an absolute asset, as timing her Ultimate will preserve all of them.

There are two issues with her, which is why I have ranked her at number 4. Firstly, you’ll have to know how to aim well if you want to get the most out of her most of her abilities. Second, her Ultimate’s nature means you’ll need to coordinate well with your team, and that’s not happening when you play with strangers.

3. Rocket Raccoon

If you’re looking to become a Strategist main in Marvel Rivals, Rocket Raccoon is a great start. His revive station allows you to bring your dead allies back to life, and his moves are easy to perform. You don’t even have to be good with your aim to land the heals, and they also bounce (making him ideal for characters that fly).

Aside from being good with heals, Raccoon can also do a decent amount of damage to squishy opponents and can hold his own in a fight. He’s only at Rank 3 because of two very strong alternatives.

2. Adam Warlock

The mystical Adam Warlock is different from any other hero in terms of how he can cocoon himself when required. In case you die, there’s a chance for you to come back without having to respawn. Similarly, Adam’s Ultimate can revive the entire team, changing the tide of a battle completely.

His weapon is equally strong which can do a lot of damage if you can aim properly. Just remember that his healing is based on abilities, but when performed right, they can swing the momentum of a fight. You’ll need a bit of practice with Adam Warlock, but he can be a great meta choice.

1. Jeff

Had it not been for one of my colleagues and the memes on social media, Jeff the Land Shark wouldn’t have become my main. If you’re good with Jeff and there’s a map with open edges, just use the Ultimate, swallow your enemies, and jump! Jeff has one of the most broken Ultimate in the entire game, and like Adam Warlock, he can change the tide of the battle in an instant.

It’s very easy for him to heal his teammate, and he also does decent damage. Jeff has excellent escape ability, and you can also spawn your healing balls if you need instaheal. Unless he gets a nerf or NetEase decides to rework every map possible, Jeff will be a great choice for the Strategist role.
