Whether you’re looking to expand your repertoire as a crafter or a gatherer in Final Fantasy XIV, you’re going to need Purple Scrips. This currency is us♓ed to purchase Master Recipe books for crafters, and Tomes of Folklore for gatherers.
Farmi🏅ng out these Scrips may seem like a tall order, especially if you consider the f𒁃act that these books cost over 1,000 Scrips each. However, there are some hints and tips that I’ve picked up to make the grind a little easier.
One basic tip before getting into this: I urge you to do your weekly Custom Deliveries, and also complete the Wachumeqimeqi Deliveries quests. These both provide a large number of Purple Scrips, and at 💜relatively little effort.
How to farm Purple Crafters’ Scrips in Final Fantasy XIV
Listen, I know it’s tempting to go out🔯 of your way to craft the highest level items you can in order to get the most scrips. However, I would urge you to consider cra🀅fting a lower level collectable.
Why? Trained Eye, that’s why. Using this action instantly causes the collectability of any item to shoot straight ♚to 10ಞ0%, as long as the item you’re trying to craft is at least 10 levels below your current level.
While you may earn less Scrips per item, you can craft many more lower level items in a shorter period of time💝, meaning that you’ll earn more Scrips with less effort and that isn’t ever something to pass up. Plus, not having to worry about collectability certainly makes crafting more enjoyable.
How to farm Purple Gatherers’ Scrips in FFXIV
Gatherers’ Scrips are always harder to earn than their crafting counterpart, and it may take you longer to stock up on a hoard of them, but that doesn’t mean♈ you can’t do it if you’ve got some time to spare and a lot of patience.ജ
One way to get a lot of Purple Gatherers’ Scrips is by setting out to different areas at different 💖times to find collectable resources at timed nodes as Botanist and Miner. The amount of Scrips you’ll earn will depend on the level of Collectability of any items you gather.
To mak🍬e this easier, you can look up an item in the Gathering Log and right click on it to set an alarm, which will remind you when a node becomes available.&nbs𓆏p;
Botanist
Item | Location | Time (Eorzean time) | Scrips |
Rarefied Acacia Bark | Shaaloani (X:31.7, Y:20.4) | 6 a.m. / 6 p.m. | 16 – 38 |
Rarefied Sweet Kukuru Bean | Yak T’el (X:36.8, Y:34.8) | 2 a.m. / 2 p.m. | 15 – 36 |
Rarefied Mountain Flax | Urqopacha (X:5.7, Y:23.6) | 12 p.m. / 12 a.m. | 14 – 35 |
Miner
Item | Location | Time (Eorzean time) | Scrips |
Rarefied White Gold Ore | Heritage Found (X:34.8, Y:8.6) | 4 a.m. / 4 p.m. | 16 – 38 |
Rarefied Titanium Gold Ore | Shaaloani (X:9.2, Y:24.4) | 8 a.m. / 8 p.m. | 15 – 36 |
Rarefied Raw Dark Amber | Kozama’uka (X:7.2, Y:7.3) | 10 a.m. / 10 p.m | 14 – 35 |
However, if you’ve got a bit of time on your hands and don’t mind gathering less valuable items, there are some items which spawn in regular nodes and can be treated as any otဣher gatherable resource. Just like logs or ore, these are always present in their nodes and you can farm them to your hearts content.
The downside to this is that they give less Purple Scrips per hand in (between 3 and 20, depending on the level of collectability you achieve) so you’ll need to gather a lot more to make up those numbers. On the plus side, both of these items are gathered in Kozama’uka, so if you fancy a change you can always mix it up a bit and switch c🐭lasses!
The items for Botanist and Miner are as follows:
Class | Item | Location |
Botanist | Rarefied Kozama’uka Chamomile | Kozama’uka (X:26.3, Y:25.3) |
Miner | Rarefied Raw Ihuykanite | Kozama’uka (X:37.8, Y:21.3) |
