Black Myth: Wukong’s latest patch nerfs one boss in particular

The patch also brings fixes for bugs and glitches.

Black Myth: Wukong has received a new patch, which has led to one of the primary bosses you meet in Chapter 3 being nerfed. Black Myth: Wukong patch 1.0.8.14860 has nerfed Yaoguai King “Captain Wise-Voice.”

Game Science, developer of Black Myth: Wukong, has mentioned in the patch notes that it has “slightly reduced” the stats of Yaoguai King “Captain Wise-Voice,” but the developers did not expand upon the details of this nerf.

Some players have found difficulties in dealing with the bo🙈ss, the most common problem players experienced during this fight was the movement of the camer﷽a which made it tougher for players to see close-range melee attacks coming.

A Reddit user that the boss has “a couple of moves to watch out for,” but the “camera can be a little bit of a pain at times.” Another user noted that the boss fight seems extra difficult because it is “the camera angles that make it harder then [sic] it needs to be.”

While stats have been reduced, there is no mention of camera angle opꦅtimization during this 🎃battle.

Black Myth: Wukong patch 1.0.8.14860 is now available on PC and PS5. The update size for 𝓡PC players is around 1.6G༒B, while it hovers around 1GB for PS5 players.

Apart from this particular nerf, there are no other balance changes made for any of the enemies you encounter in Black Myth: Wukong. The patch mostly targeted bugs and glitches that players encountered in the game, especially with protagonist Destined One’s switch stances and stats errors in some situations. You can also check out the .

While the patch is also out for PS5, it sadly does not arrive with fixes for performance and stability issues console players have experienced in Black Myth: Wukong so far. From the looks of it, performance improvements for PS5 will take time, as Game Science co-founder and director Yang Qi also reportedly said (via ) during a fan interaction on Weibo that there are optimization problems for Black Myth: Wukong on PS5, and that the game is “basically bottlenecked” on the console at the moment. 

Black Myth: Wukong has been a massive hit for Game Science, as it became the most-played single-player game of all time on Steam. It also played a big role in contributing to Steam’s latest record, where Valve’s PC games platform surpassed 37 million concurrent users.
