BlazBlue Entropy Effect tier list (January 2025)

From Ragna to Rachel, here are the best characters in BlazBlue Entropy Effect.

A game that succeeded in bringing the feel of a fighting game to a roguelike platformer, BlazBlue Entropy Effect allows players to take Prototypes of many fan favorites, like Ragna and Rachel, to the field in a spin-off whose only connection to the mašŸ¦¹n franchiš“”se lies in its roster.

But given how each playable character has access to a pretty distinct list of both Potentials and combo routes, it was a given that a few would perform better than others. To help you pick your main and glide through the late-game, here are all the Prototypes available in BlazBlue Entropy Effect, ranked from best to worst.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect tier list: All Prototypes, ranked

Like with most lists here, we decided to arrange our BlazBlue Entropy Effect tier list into four tiers, going from the game’s meta-defining picks on S+ to those who will fail to make an impact on par with their peers even under perfect conditions. You can check out our tier list below and more details regarding each tier by heading further down.

As briefly mentioned above, the S+Tier houses the Prototypes capable of “breaking the game,” be it via their self-sustainability, unique mechanics, or sheer damage.

While Ragna and Jin are usually seen as the poster boys for the tier, given their ability to pair their massive damage outputs with the ability to ź§’self-heal and keep enemies frozen, respectively, Rachel is my highlight here, as she can turn the whole screen into her domain and melt all bosses by investing on set Potential combos. My go-to? Sword Iris, Tiny Lobelia, and Clownish Calendula. Just make sure to also invest in MPą“œ.

S-Tier, explained

Taokaka, as shown in BlazBlue Entropy Effect.

In the S-Tier, we have characters that, even if lacking the unique tools of the above, can be just as devasting if equipped with the right Potentials and Tactics, many of which will make up for their weaknesses. Two great examplesą±  can be seen in Taokaka and Mai, who can stun-lock bosses with ease for massive damage. Kokonoe is also a favorite of mine, as she more than makes up for her early game troubles by becoming a one-woman army later on.

A-Tier, explained

Noel Vermillion.

In the A-Tier, we have Prototypes with either less universal kits or will demand way more if you wish to awaken their true might. True to that, many picks here won’t be beginner-friendly and rely on cancel combos (ICEY, Noel, and Lambda-11) or high-risk, high-reward gimmicks (Hakumen).

B-Tier, explained

Hibiki, as shown in BlazBlue Entropy Effect.

Although not bad by any means, the prototypes on B-Tier can only be categorized as niche picks, as they cannot match the damage or utility of the above via a lack of impactful Potentials worth investing in. Unfortunately for all who still main him at Central Fiction, Hibiki is the only character in the game to fit tšŸhešŸ„€ bill.
