Take a trip to paradise
Activision released Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 2 recently. This new season is much larger than what was seen in the original post-launch season. It brings with it a new game mode for battle royale, new maps, Ranked Play, and so much more. Here’s it all in the Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2.0 patch notes.
New features and game modes
There is a plethora of new features and additions to both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 for fans of both games alike.𝓀 The major new features include some new game modes, maps, and weapons.
Ranked Play
First off, Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer fans can now enjoy Ranked Play. After a long wait since the launch of the latest CoD game inꦯ 2022, players can now begin their competitive multiplayer cycle. 𒅌Ranked Play follows up on the previous CDL Moshpit playlist to offer a pro-style experience.
Players engage in the same game modes and maps as the Call of Duty League pro players do. You can rise up and down the ranks, based on how well you d𓄧o in matches. Ranked Play operates on two different formats: the skill divisions and ranks.
Skill divisions reset every season, so players are encouraged to try and get as many wins as possible within a season to gain rewards. On the other hand, ranks are permanen💞t levels for players that they can progress through to earn operator skins, calling cards, and more.
Resurgence mode
For Warzone 2.0 fans, the long-awaited arrival of the Resurgence game mode is here. Brought over from the original Warzone, this is a permanent ga𝓰meplay addition that comes with all of the exp♑ected versions: solos, duos, trios, and squads.
Resurgence takes place on a brand new island map known as Ashika Island. It is around 30 percent larger than the previous Resurgence maps, like Rebirth Island. This map is set in Japan and features the classic Castle map from World at War and Vanguard, now known as Tsuki Castle.
Resurgence mode works quite differently from normal battle royale, involving a respawn-based battle royale experience. Instead of one life to live and a single trip to the꧃ Gulag, Resurgence features unlimited respawns so long as aꦜ teammate is alive.
It is a battle to loot up and get prepared for the final segment of the match when the respawn timer is disabled and it is a fight ಞto the death i💯n a tiny area.
New weapons and maps
Lastly, there are new weapons and maps for players to check out in multiplayer and battle royale alike as you level up the new battle pass with its set of cosmetic items, CoD points, and operator skins. The four new weapons in Season 2 are ❀as follows:
- ISO Hemlock: An assault rifle that is similar to the ACR from the original MW2. Players can unlock it in the battle pass for free.
- Dual Kodachis: These new melee weapons are faster and have longer-range to them. Players can unlock them through the Path of the Ronin event.
- Crossbow: This marksman rifle weapon is a silent crossbow that has deadly bolt damage that can be fired from afar. It is free in the battle pass.
- KV Broadside: This is a new shotgun that is the fastest in its class. Players can unlock the weapon for free in the battle pass, too.
There are a couple of new multiplayer maps, too, including a familiar one from the MW2 beta:
- Dome: This six-versus-six map returns from Call of Duty past. It features a small map where two teams battle it out with a massive domed structure between them.
- Valderas Museum: This is a brand new six-on-six multiplayer map that was originally featured in the beta. It is a popular map that takes place across a large museum with indoor and outdoor sections.
