Get ready for the grind
Call of Duty is one of the most competitive video games you can play — the fast-paced combat, the “Best Play” mechanic, and kill/death ratios all encourage players to push themselves to dominate their opponents. While CoD players can enjoy the competitive spirit of just playing the game, they also enjoy having the structure of ranked play, so that they know exactly where they fall in the rankings in relation to others. Thankfully, players of the most recent Call of Duty game will be able to , because Ranked Play is officially dropping for Vanguard on Thursday, February 17.
With the 🌱addition of the new mode, players will need to complete five Skill Evaluation matches at the start of each season 💮to get a starting Skill Rating and Skill Division placement — a standard practice for competitive modes these days.
The Ranked Play Beta in Season Two of Call of Duty Vanguard will include the competitive (also known as CDL) 4v4 Hardpoint, CDL Search and Destroy, and CDL Control matches. Players will also be able to use the same weapons, settings, and maps that are used in the CDL. Finally, players will also be rewarded with special gear via Ranked Play Rewards, that can be used in both Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone.
Ranked Play was introduced to the Call of Duty franchise back in Advanced Warfare, and is similar to League Play from Black Ops II, which allowed players to have all weapons and gear unlocked 🐈from ♊the start.
Players will have to work their way up through the ranked divisions that have remained the same since the start of League Play — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and G🎃randmaster (reserved only for the top 100 overall players)🧜. Just like in League Play, certain weapons, attachments, equipment, and Killstreaks will be restricted.
