Can you get rid of the wards in Hades 2? Answered

Let me in.

Those blasted Wards scattered around the Crossroads in Hades 2 can be vexing. 🅰You just know there’s something good beyond them, but there’s no hint on how to get past. So, you might be wondering if the wards are decorative, or maybe just to gate off incomplete areas i⛦n Early Access.

You can get rid of the Wards in Hades 2. In fact, you’ll have to if you want to complete the game. Spoilers will follow if you want to know more.

You cannot, however, get past the Wards immediately off the hop. It takes some story (and game) progresဣsion before you actually have the ability to remove them. It takes a while, but might be sooner than you think.

After progressing far enough, you’ll meet Hermes. The fleet-footed God is acting as reconnaissance and has caught wind of a plot by Chronos to launch an all-out attack on Mount Olympus. Hecate and Odysseus want to verify it at first, but eventually, they’ll come to the conclusion that you’ll need to ܫventure to the surface to assist the Gods in repelling the attack.

How to use the Permeation of Witching Wards Incantation in Hades 2

However, the Ward will still remain, and it will continue to remain for a while. However, after you reach the Plains of Mourning, a new project will become available at the Cauldron. It’s called Permeation of Witching Wards. The spell requires:

  • 30 Ashes
  • 15 Psyche
  • 1 Shadow Extraction

The Ashes and the Psyche you probably are familiar with by now. You mainly gather them on your journeys, but you can also buy them from the Broker for bones. Shadow Extraction has an extra step though. You create it using the cauldron and have to go off 💧on another run w꧃hile you wait for it to finish.

Once you have the ingredients, you can perform the spell, and the ward will fall. You can then start your ascent to the surface. You’ll eventually need to use another Incantation to spend a significant amount of time on the surface, so be sure to keep an eye out for info on that.
