Ninja Time is one of the latest entrants to the world of anime-inspired video games, and finding a mount becomes extremely necessary once ??you start progressing your adventure. While you can walk and cover as much land as possible, having a mount makes your life a lot easier.??

The higher speed will help you to cover greater distances and help you progress quicker. Naturally, it ma??kes a ??lot of sense for you to concentrate all your efforts on finding one as early as possible.

Where can you find a mount early in Ninja Time

The earliest point to get a mount will appear once you meet the Kaba NPC in Leaf Village. When you talk with him, he will assign you a companion quest. To complete the quest, you'll need to finish two tasks: reach level 22 and travel 500,000 meters. The traveling has to be do?ne without a mount, however, which makes it a hard task.

Once you reach the village, you'll come across a set of bridges ??that lead you outside the village. There are a set of buildings located across the br??idges, and Kaba can be found there. Take the straight path from the opposite of Hokage's office building and cross the bridge. To find Kaba from there, first turn left and then go right towards the ends of the buildings.

Ninja Time mount location

Best way to complete 500,000 meters in Ninja Time

You'll acquire chakra jumps once you finish the tutorial quest. Use them repeatedly to run while performing the jumps, and you'll cover greater amounts of distance. This method is still going to be length?y, but at least you'll finish the task quicker.

Another alternative is to have a fast travel pass ?and use it between the two locations at the longest distance. Once the fast travel is complete, you'll be able to add the miles to your covered distance and come ??closer to completing the required distance. Go back to Kaba after completing the task to get your first mount.

If you're looking to progress quicker in Ninja Time, make sure to take advantage of all the codes to get more consumables.

Shatterscarp is a region in Avowed that holds plenty of secre?ts for you to find, and some of those secrets are locked behind doors that require a special key to open. One of th?ose keys is the Ornate Pargrun Key.

Finding this key allows you to open a door that leads to a few special if underwhelming rewards in Avowed. Read the?? guide below to see ex??actly where to find and use the Ornate Pargrun Key.

Ornate Pargrun Key location in Avowed

For starters, let's find out where the Ornate Parg??run Key is located so you can head directly to the door it unlocks once you add it to your inventory?.

The Ornate Pargrun Key is located in the Shark's Teeth region of Sha??tterscarp. This is found in the far northeastern part of the map and you can head there at any time after entering the map in Avowed. However, there are strong enemies here, so you want to ensure you have strong enough equipment and ??you're at a decent level before going there. If not, you might get wiped off the map before you're even able to find the key.

The location of the Pargrun Cache area in Shatterscarp. Screenshot by Destructoid

In Shark's Teeth, you're looking for the smaller Pargrun Cache area, which is located to the southeast of the "Shark's Teeth" text on your map. The Pargrun Cache can be entered in a couple of different ways, but the easiest is by getting up high on the ruins around you and jumping down into the cache. The Pargrun Cache has several different floors, so you're in for?? a task if ??you want to fully explore the area.

For the Ornate Pargrun Key specifically, thoug?h, you need to find the room with the four levers. This is accessed after destroying a gate with a freeze spell?? or an Eye of Rymrgand grenade.

The four-levers room is opened by turning a wheel on the wall in the first main room of the Pargrun Cache. After this,?? you can access the levers room on the second level and read a note on the desk to see how to orient the levers. All you need to do with the levers is interact with the far left and the far right levers, pushing them up. The levers in the middle need to stay down.

After you orient the levers correctly, a door next to you in the same room will open to reveal a purple chest. However, you can also push a button on the gold-plated square on th??e wall in the room that reveals another secret area. This has the Ornate Pargrun Key sitting on a desk next to a gold lockbox.

Pick up the ke?y and then head out the way yo??u came to use the Ornate Pargrun Key at a specific location, also in the Shark's Teeth region.

Using the Ornate Pargrun Key in Avowed

The Ornate Pargrun Ke??y opens a door locat?ed to the northeast of the Pargrun Cache in the Shark's Teeth region. Specifically, you want to head to just above "S" in the "Shark's Teeth" text on your map. Here, you'll find a door that you can open with the Ornate Pargrun Key. You can't force the door open with a lockpick either, so you have to use the key. The door is on the ground level, so there's no climbing involved.

The location of the Ornate Pargrun Key's door in Avowed. Screenshot by Destructoid

Inside the locked room is a dead skeleton with some loot on it. There's some gold scelling along with plenty of additional crafting materials for you to take.?? Unfortunately, that's all that you get for using the Ornate Pargrun Key. There's no additional loot anywhere else in the room and that's the only door the key opens in Avowed.

The loot from using the Ornate Pargrun Key. Screenshot by Destructoid

It might not be the haul you were expecting, but you likely wound up with more loot by exploring the Pargrun Cache to actually find Ornate Pargrun Key, so it all works out in ??the end.??

The Totem of Revelations is the third totem quest in Avowed. It takes p?lace in the Shatterscarp region and, as always, requires you to find seven unique Totem pieces. In return, you receive six massive buffs for your character.

Below, we'll go over the locations of each totem piece and how to fully complete the Totem of Revelations quest in Avowed.

Totem of Revelations locations in Avowed

Including the base of the totem, there are seven pieces needed to complete the "Eye of the Obscured" totem in Avowed. Like the Totem of Rightful of Rulership and Totem ?of Defiance from the previous two regions in the game, the Totem of Revelations can be placed at your party camp and grants you six unique buffs.

This guide shows you the exact location of every Totem of Revelations piece along with all six buffs that come with completing the totem. You can see the individual locatio?ns below:

Eyes of the Obscured (Totem Base)

First up, we have the Totem Base, which is called the Eyes of the Obscured. This is one of the easier pieces to find, as it's located right near the start of the map, south of Eagle's Reach. You have to enter the Shrine to Wael to ??find it sitting on a mantle surrounded by coral and mushrooms. The Shrine to Wael can be reached by jumping on some rocks on the outer edge of the large pink coral that arches over the road to the south of Eagle's Reach?.

Ruby Eye

For the Ruby Eye, you want to stay inside the Shrine to Wael. Directly to the right of the mantle where you found the Eyes of the Obscured Totem Base, there's a small pathway inside the wall on the right that you can crouch i??nto. Keep progressing down this pathway until you reach an opening, where an NPC named the Ward of the Eye is waiting for y??ou.

Go through all the dialogue with the Ward of the Eye and say you want to take the Ruby Eye. Once the dial?ogue is over, you can grab the Ruby Eye that's sitting on the blanket on the ground and head out of the Shrine to Wael for good.

The Ruby Eye can't be taken right away, but you can eventually grab it for yourself. Screenshot by Destructoid

Agate Eye

Moving on from the Shrine to Wael, the next totem piece is the Agate Eye. For this one, you need to head across Shatterscarp to the Sand Sea Ruins, which is located on the far northeastern side of the map. It's just below Shark's Teeth but to the northeast of th?e Great Sand Sea. At the ruins, you need to ascend all the way to the top of a tower and drop down one level. You should be standing on a wooden platform right below the open ceiling.

On this level, head down a greenly lit path through an arch?way and you'll find the Agate Eye sitting on the ??desk in the room.

Amethyst Eye

Next up we have the Amethyst Eye, which isn't nearly as difficult to reach as the Agate Eye. The Ameth??yst Eye is located just southeast of the Ancient Lakebed. Travel on the main road that separates the Ancient Lakebed from the Abandoned Mine location, which is northwest of Thirdborn. Along the road, you can enter a small cave to find the Amethyst Eye sitting on a random rock that's surrounded by some pale blue mushrooms.

Topaz Eye

The fifth Totems of Revelations piece is the Topaz Eye, and you can find it inside a cave near the Leviathan's Hollow area of Shatterscarp. Leviathan's Hollow is directly south of the Naku Kabel Approach, which is a central story location in Avowed. You can also reach the area from the Deadfall Highlands. Leviath??an's Hollow is a tricky place to navigate, as it involves swimming to different caves.

For the Topaz Eye specifically, you're looking for a cave that can be reached by swimming underwater but is also accessible throu?gh a hole in the cave wall. The Topaz eye itself is sitting on a desk near a health potion?.

Emerald Eye

The penultimate Totem of Revelations piece is the Emerald Eye. This piece is located at the very top of a small pillar in the central part of the Shark's Teeth area of Shatterscarp. To reach the pillar, you want to go near the Pargrun Cache and head up the ramp that leads to the north. Where the pillar plateaus, lo??ok to the west and you'll see a pillar you? can climb up via a wooden platform.

The Emerald Eye is?? sitting on a pillar near a lock box and a note. Keep climbing the pillar until you ensure you're at the top to successfully find it.

Sapphire Eye

Finally, the last Totem of Revelations piece is the Sapphire Eye. Without fully exploring Shatterscarp, you would never know where this piece is located. To find it, head to the Sand Sea Oasis, which is right near the Sand Sea Ruins in the far eastern part of the map. Notably, the Sand Sea Oasis is a location you'll visit for the One Last Drink side quest in Avowed.

At the Sand Sea Oasis, jump into the crystal clear pond and go towards the center of ?it. Down at the bottom of the pond, you'll find the Sapphire Eye sitting on a rock next to a skeleton. Dive down right on top of?? the "Sand Sea Oasis" text on your map.

All buffs for the Totem of Revelations in Avowed

Now that you have all seven Totem of Revelations pieces, head to any party camp and visit the totem rock on the edge of th?e camp. Place the Eyes of the Obscured Totem Base down on the top left rock and then follow up with the six fragments.

The Totem of Revelations offers six buffs once it's fully constructed at camp. Screenshot by Destructoid

After a short cutscene that plays out with Wael, you can see all of the buffs you get from placing the entire To??tem of Revelations at camp. Here's a list of all the buffs you earn after placing the full totem:

  • Fickle Winds: Critical Hits deal high random accumulation
  • Disappearing Trick: Second Wind casts Shadowing Beyond
  • Magic in the Blood: Restoring Essence also restores a small amount of Health
  • Sight Beyond Eyes: +5% Critical Hit Chance
  • Enigmatic Shield: Activating a Level 15 or Level 20 ability grants a 5% Damage Reduction for 10 seconds.
  • The Obscured's Vantage: +2 Intellect, +2 Perception

You now have some extra bonuses working in your favor in Avowed. Next up, you can find all of the totem pieces in the Galawain's Tusks region. But make sure to fully explore Shatterscarp, as it holds more secrets? than just the Totem of Revelation?s.

Fires in the Mine is a side quest?? you can take on soon after reaching the Shatterscarp region in Avowed. The quest st?arts simple enough, as you just have to clear out some spiders from a nearby mine, but it evolves into something different by the end.

To see what choice you should make in the Fires in the Mine quest in Avowed, the guide below answers all.

How to complete Fires in the Mine in Avowed

Let's start off with the first part of the Fires in the Mine quest. Your job here is simple, find and destroy two spi?der nests located in the mine.

The mine can be difficult to navigate, but if you follow your quest markers, you should be able to find both spider nests without too much of a dilemma. Both spider nests come with dozens of spider enemies, so you need to clear ?them out befo?re attempting to destroy the nests.

The nests ??themselves are located high up on the walls of the mine and they are surrounded by massive amounts of spider webs. To destroy the nests, thro?w a Magran's Fury grenade at the middle part of the nest or use a fire spell from a Grimoire of the Elements book.

Once?? you've managed to destroy both nests,?? head out the same way you came into the mine by following the quest marker on your map. You can also choose to explore the mine a little more, as there are several chests and a couple of unique items to find throughout its narrow pathways and secret rooms.

Should you blow up the mine in Avowed?

As you approach the exit to the mine, you'll find a soldier who wants to speak with you. The soldier's name is Darle and he's been sent into t??he mine with one clear goal: to blow it up. According to Darle, this is the best way to avoid war be?tween Thirdborn and the Aedyrans. The mine holds plenty of explosive properties and if one side were to get their hands on the mine's benefits, the war would be extremely one-sided. By destroying the mine, no side gets to use explosives against the another.

Darle wants to blow up the mine and sacrifice himself in the process. Screenshot by Destructoid

Of course, you're given a choice after Darle explains why he should blow up the mine. You can either a??llow Darle to complete his mission or kill him to prevent the mine's demise.

Choosing to blow up the mine

If you allow Darle to blow up the mine, you and your party rush? out of the mine as quickly as possible. Darle sacrifices himself to accomplish his goal and the mine explodes shortly after you exit it.

Ilena and Seyon aren't happy with you after the mine is destroyed. Screenshot by Destructoid

When the mine explodes, you return to speak with Ilena and Seyon, who ask you why you allowed Darle to blow up the mine. You can choose to li?e or tell the truth, but it doesn't matter in the end, as both parties are furious at you for allowing the mine to be destroyed. After you speak with them, the Fires in the Mine quest ends and you'll earn just over 1,000 XP

Choosing to kill Darle and leave the mine

On the other hand, if you don't want to blow up the mine, you can kill Darle and then walk out of the mine normally. Speak with Ilena and Seyon outside the min??e and choose to tell them the truth about what h??appened inside or lie about it. Your best bet here is to tell the truth, as both parties believe your story and choose to walk away from the mine amicably.

Your reward for taking t??his path is close to 1,000 XP and 900 S??keyt. If you lie about Darle and the mine, you won't receive these rewards.

In the end, it's up to you whether or not to blow up the mine. Yo?ur choice doesn't make a huge difference in the grand scheme of things, but you'll technically earn more rewards if you kill Darle and then come clean to Ilena and Seyon about what happened in the mine. However, seeing the mine blow up is also a cool sequence, so pick whatever you want.

If you've ever played a game like Avowed, then you might assume that enemies will respawn in an area after some time has passed. Naturally, this is a reasonable assumpti?on, but the answer to the?? question is slightly nuanced.

Will enemies respawn in Avowed?

To be upfront, the answer is 'No' in most cases, and 'Yes' very sparingly, specifically in that order. I know that ??sounds peculiar, but hear me out. There's ??a reason.

Throughout most of your adventure in Avowed enemies will not respawn once you've cleared out an area. Defining 'respawn' here for clarity, the enemies you've once killed in an area will not come back to life almost under any circumstances. This, unfortunately, leads to situations where when you're backtracking searching for loot or materials, you'll have nothing to fight. Thankfully, the majority of experience you gain for your character in Avowed comes from quest completions over killing monsters, so this is rarel??y an issue throughout the game.

Screenshot by Destructoid

There is a situation, however, that can cause some monsters to 'respawn' in an area, if the criteria are met, and only once. If you're a thorough explorer first who likes to prioritize that aspect over completing quests, like I am, then sometimes you'll find quest-made locations with enemies inside. Avowed generally does not place obstacles in your path of exploration, so you can often go inside these questing areas and ki?ll all the enemies within it.

However, if you explore a quest area and kill all the enemies inside before you have the quest associated with the location, sometimes enemies will respawn (only once) for the area after you obtain it. This isn't always the case, mind you, but you can test this phenomenon yourself using the Nacib bounty quest in Dawnshore.

Paradis town in Avowed
Screenshot by Destructoid

All you need to do is enter the Ruinous Cavern side area, west of Paradis, before grabbing the bounty quest from within the city. Slay the spiders outside then enter the cavern and kill all enemies in the first area. Before dropping down deeper, exit the cavern and pick up the Nacib bounty quest ?from the Bounty Board in Paradis. Then, return to the cavern again. Y??ou'll find spiders that you definitely killed prior, roaming near the entrance of the Ruinous Cavern once again.

Is this a true respawn? I'd say so, b?ut it will only happen onc??e in my experience, and rarely at that. So, it's safe to assume that most enemies will simply not come back once you've gutted them out of existence.

Magic in Avowed isn’t just about waving your hands since you need the right tools and knowledge to dabble. Grimoires hold powerful combinations of spells and you can learn, so here's how to master Essence weaving f?rom these mystic tomes.

How to get spells from Grimiores in Avowed

Before you can even think about learning new spells, you first need to get your hands on a Grimoire. This is because you need to have seen a spell in a Grimiore to use it in any capacity. These mystical books serve as the foundation of magic in Avowed, containing various combinations of spells you can cast directly from them. Spells in thes??e Grimoires can also be learned, granting you the bene?fit of being able to invoke magic without a Grimoire equipped.

Casting with a Grimiore in Avowed

Grimoires are found throughout the world of Eora, hidden in ancient ruins, guarded by formidable?? enem??ies, or sold by specialized vendors. If you’re serious about learning magic, exploring every corner of the world is a must.

Not all Grimoires are ??created equal, though. Some contain basic spells, perfect for newcomers, while others hold powerful advanced spells that instantly change the tide of battle. Keep an eye out for higher-tier, highe??r-quality Grimoires, as they can offer game-changing abilities.

Learning Magic from a Grimoire

Owning a Grimoire doesn’t mean you automatically know or can cast its spells. To actually use the magic within, you need to invest in the ri?ght talents. Tier 1 spells do not require talents to cast from a Grimiore, but if you want to invoke those spells without a Grimiore in hand, you will need to invest at least a point.

However, if you want to learn or use spells beyond the first tier, you'll need to invest Talent points in the Wizard tree, specifically in Grimiore Mastery. This talent comes in multiple tiers, correspondent to the tier of spells?? it unlocks, and allows you to cast advanced spells directly from a Grimiore that contains one.

Grimoire Mastery Talents in Avowed

With Grimiore Mastery Tier 1 allocated, for example, you can cast the Fireball spell from a Grimiore, without having learned the spell yourself. The opposite is als??o true. With Grimiore Mastery Tier 1 unlocked, you can now put a point into Fireball, thus, learning the spell. You will be?? able to invoke Fireball without a Grimoire equipped in this example.

If you have learned Fireball and still insist on casting it from a Grimiore you have equipped, it's not a waste of time. Casting a learned spell from a Grimiore will increase the level of the cast by one, meaning your Fireball, in th??e above example, will count as a 'Level 2' instead.

Grimoires and Magic Combinations

Every Gri?moire you find will have different spell combos that you can utilize freely to define your playstyle.

Once you’ve learned a s??pell, pra?ctice makes perfect. Casting spells in combat will help you understand their strengths, weaknesses, and potential combos with other abilities. Experiment with different Grimoires and spell combinations to find a playstyle that suits your approach, whether that’s raining fire from a distance or using arcane shields to tank enemy attacks.

Mastering magic in Avowed is about more? than just collecting powerful books. It’s about understanding,?? commitment, and investing in the right talents. By securing Grimoires, unlocking the necessary talents, and refining your spellcasting abilities, you’ll be well on your way to becoming a true master of the arcane. Just make sure you have enough Essence before you start blasting.

After you are abruptly murdered in the streets of Paradis in Avowed, you?? have to find an NPC named the "Watcher" to give you a clean bill of health. The normal doctor in Paradis has, naturally, never treated someone who died, but the Watcher is a different kind of healer who deals with supernatural elemen??ts.

Unfortunately, the Watcher is a difficult NPC to find and reach in Avowed, so let's see exactly where she's loca??ted in Dawnshore??.

The Watcher's location in Avowed

During the main story quest "An Untimely End," you're given a quest marker to the Watcher's location on the map. While this is a decent starting point for where to ???go, actually getting to the Watcher is a different story. The location of the NPC isn't a straight shot up a clear trail; instead, you have to traverse some difficult terrain and off-the-beaten paths to reach her.

Below, we'll give you a breakdown of exactly what you need to do to reach the Watcher in Avowed:

  • Fast travel to The Rise Party Camp, which is located just northeast of Paradis and south of the Shrine to Woedica
  • Go north towards the Shrine to Woedica and cross a bridge
  • Head straight until you see a split bridge to the east
  • Go to the edge of the first half of the bridge and aim at the water beneath
  • Either use a freeze spell or an Eye of Rymrgand grenade to freeze the water. This creates a small patch of ice that you can jump on and use to vault yourself up to the next half of the bridge

The area between the two broken bridges near the Watcher's house. Screenshot by Destructoid

  • Head north after getting off the broken bridge and keep going until you reach a fork
  • Go towards the right and continue until you reach the Watcher's house, which is accessed by going up some stairs
  • The Watcher's house is called Runyd's House and is marked on the map after you reach it

The trickiest element of this journey is freezing the water underneath the broken bridge. When you initially see the broken bridge, you might turn around or try to jump to the other side, which is impossible. However, all you need to do is bring a Grimoire of the Elements book, use a freeze spell from the Wizard's skill tree, or throw an Eye of Rymrgand grenade in the middle of the water under the bridge?. You can also create multiple patches of ice by using more than one of those?? methods, but keep in mind the ice patches only last for around five seconds.

An example of creating an ice patch over water so you can cross it. Screenshot by Destructoid

After you get acro?ss the bridge, it's smooth sailing, as there's a pretty clear path laid out for you from there. You have to travel around 100 more meters to get to Ruynd's House. There's also an N??PC you can speak to just outside of her house as well as a dead body with a unique ring, the Wayfarer's Ring, that you can loot.

When you arrive at the Watcher's abode, head inside and speak to her to progress the An Untimely End quest in Avowed. After speaking with the Watcher, I recommend checking out her house, as there are some chests and other items lying around that you can take for yourself. One of the chests in the upstairs part of the house contains some much-needed Adra. But once the quest is done, you can return to Paradis and speak with the ambassador to continue the story in Avowed.

The Intimidating Feline Codpiece is one of the many Treasure Map quests you can solve during your adventures in Avowed. If you're not sure where you find this one??, here's the solution for it.

How to solve the Intimidating Feline Codpiece Treasure Map in Avowed

Your treasure hunt begins right at the beginning of your adventure in Avowed. In Claviger’s Landing, the bustling beginner hub in the Dawnshore region, you'll meet various traders hawking their wares at every passerby, yourself included. Among those merchants, you'll find Lynna, a merchant with an eye for the unusual and the cryptic. Speak with her and gaze upon her wares. For a modest sum of coin, she will sell you the Intimidating Feline Codpiece Treasure Map, to get you started.

The map itself is a cryptic, hand-drawn sketch depict?ing a ravine flanked by towering cliffs, with a small arrow pointing to a cave entrance. While it might not look like much at first, this scrap of parchment will lead you to one of the early game's best armor pieces.

Once you have the map in hand, it’s time to decipher its clues. Your destination lies southeast of The Rise, northeast of the Yellowband Camp, where towering rock formations and e??erie skeletal remains mark the entrance to a well-secluded cav??e.

The easiest way to confirm you’re in the right spot is to look for a moss-covered natural archway leading into a secluded path.

Beyond this, a barricaded cave entrance w?aits, where you'll find a che?st and the reward to the treasure map inside.

inside the chest, you’ll find the Stelgaer’s Pride unique chestp?iece. This sleek medium armor isn’t just?? for show as it comes with some powerful but specific perks that may be a great addition to your build. Its core stats are:

  • 18% Damage Reduction
  • 3 Additional Damage Reduction
  • -35 Maximum Stamina
  • -30 Maximum Essence

In general, Stelgaer's Pride is for builds that don't rely too heavily on Stamina or Essence to function. The damage reduction is typical of most armor of medium build, and the same can be said about the negatives as well. However, Stelgaer's Pride, being unique, has two additional perks that should not be overloo??ked:

  • Bloodied Fury (Major Passive): Automatically casts the Barbaric Shout ability when you take a heavy hit, giving you a combat boost right when you need it.

    • Barbaric Shout - This is a tier two Fighter ability that interrupts smaller enemies and empowers you against large ones when cast. You'll also gain the 'Uninterruptable' buff, preventing your attacks from being interrupted while providing you additional Stun power.

  • Lesser Relentless: Increases stamina regeneration by 5%, keeping you on your feet and moving just a bit longer.

Beyond the armor itself, the chest also contains extra coins and crafting materials, making this a worthwhile detour even if you're not planning to make use of this unique armor. Crafting materials are especially u?seful, as having an abundance of them means you'll never run into a scenario where y?ou cannot upgrade build-critical gear.

While making your way to the House of Hades and the summit of Mount Olympus in Hades 2, Melinoe can call upon the help of many Olympians?. And while ma??ny fan favorites will aid the princess from the get-go, Ares will take a bit of convincing.

Here's how to unlock the Ares boons in Hades 2.

How to unlock the Ares boons in Hades 2

Much like how you can only access Demeter's after making your way to the surface in the original game, you can unlock Ares and his boons in Hades 2 by defeating Prometheus and reaching the summit of Mount Olympus once. There will be no need to defeat Typhon there but I recommend trying to at least reach the boss to make the most out of th?e chance. Upon the end of your run, simply start another to receive the first Ares ??boon and unlock the ability to get them in all following runs.

Make sure to also give the god one Nectar as soon as possible to get his Sword Hilt keepsake/relic. Although getting good amounts of Nectar will most likely not be a problem for you, you can make your own supply by ??performing the Sweet Nectar Incantation. To learn the incantation, defeat Eris and then select a couple of Aphrodite boons while carrying a Golden Apple and having her at +1 affinity (at l??east).

How to defeat Prometheus in Hades 2

A tough fight but only a preface for what is to come, Prometheus will offer a straightforward challenge where you must keep your guard up and get the most out of the openings he leaves following his devastating Liu Kang-style combos, projectiles, and AoE blasts. The true challenge. how?ever, will start once he decides to take to the sky before raining fire upon Melinoe three times (or five once below 50% HP).

To avoid the attack and its 70+ DMG per hit, simply pay attention and move accordingly to the red markings shown in the arena, which will ??mark the path of the fllames and highlight their order.

If you still have a hard time with the attack's timing or just cannot trust your short-term memory —like me, sometimesactivating the Dark Side Hex or triggering ?any Impervious effect before the blasts can allow you to completely nullify them. If you have the?? gold to spare, Hermes' Paid Dues legendary boon will also allow you to get out scoot-free, even if hit.

Avowed has?? pretty unique character creation available to you at th?e start of a new adventure, and having Godlike Features will help you to stand apart among the NPCs (quite literally).

To be fair, you can enjoy a fair amount of customization inside the game, which goes a bit beyond what typical ?RPGs usually offer. If you're still not satisfied, you can enable the use of Godlike Features to make your? characters look distinct.

Let's take a look at all the available options.

All Godlike Facial Features in Avowed

There are 14 different options in Avowed when choosing your character's face. The range of options can be checked at the ti??me of character creation.

Here are all the facial features.

All Godlike Hair Features in Avowed

Just like the face of your characters, you can h??ave Godlike Features for their hair. The number of options are limited to four, so the choices are relatively limited.

Should you use Godlike Features in Avowed

Just like Godlike Abilities, you can decide whether ??????????????????????????you want Godlike Features. There's an option available at the very start of the game that allows you to disable t?hese Features partially or entirely. If you choose to keep them on, the NPCs you meet will react accordingly.

Ultimately it's up to you and ho??w you want to progress on your adventure. I didn't like the mutations and how they're designed, so I've disabled th??em on my personal save. Ultimately, it's your adventure, so you can play accordingly.

The Warsong update brought a series of major improvements and additions to Hades 2, which included the debut of a new wave of boons spearheaded by Ares himself. But as expected of the God of War, it was a given that some of his boons would be game-changing, to say the least. Here are the best Ares boons in Hades 2.

The best Ares boons in Hades 2

Hades 2 players have in the boons of Ares one of the game's best. Especially when the subject is dealing heavy damage. Although unable to apply the fan-favorite Doom effect, Ares' new Wound?s mechanic will allow you to perform "Criticals" fairly quickly and early on.

Without further ado, here are the best Ares boons in Hades 2:

10. Visceral Impact

The Visceral Impact boon of Ares in Hades 2.

  • Base effect overview: A Blood Drop is produced each time you perform kills or suffer damage, with both actions having a 25/35/45/55% chance of producing an extra drop. After acquired, each drop will boost Melinoe's strike and movement speed by 1% during the encounter (no stack limit).
  • Requirements: None

The first boon in our list, Visceral Impact a?llows you to get a huge boost in movement speed by acquiring Blood Drops. Unfortunately, though, the boon's specifics make it way less impressive when facing Gua?rdians, as Melinoe will need to sacrifice a lot to build up enough stacks.

9. Rallying Cry

The Rallying Cry boon in Hades 2.

  • Base effect overview: Your boon-related effects will deal 50% more DMG when carrying at least 8x Earth tokens.
  • Requirements: Having at least 3x Earth-tokens equipped

A must-have if you are either heavily investing in Ares or prefer to go to the field while pairing his boons with Hephaestus's, Rallying Cry will boost the damaging effects of yo??ur remaining boons by a stunning 50%. There's not much to be said here, as even if tricky to tr??igger, extra DMG will always be a welcome addition.

8. Mutual Destruction

The Mutual Destruction boon.

  • Base effect overview: Each missing health point will boost your chances of dealing 200% when attacking by 0.1/0.12/0.14/0.16%. For example, when missing 100 HP with the boon at Heroic, you will have a 16% chance of triggering the effect.
  • Requirements: None

The best boon for those who like to either live on the edge or are looking to clutch when in high fear, Mutual Destruction will boost the chances of your attacks dealing 200% DMG based on how low your ??health is. It's like they say right? High risk, high reward. Before you ask, yes, boon-related DoTs such as Zeus's bolts can? also trigger the effect.

7. Single Elimination

The Single Elimination boon.

  • Base effect overview: You will deal +20/25/30/35% DMG against isolated targets.
  • Requirements: None

Like Rallying Cry, Single Elimination is another straightforward boon that provides a massive overall DMG boost, this time when facing either lone targets or those away from the pack. Even if situational, I don't believe we need to highlight how impactful?? this boon can be, as pretty much all Guardians (except f?or the Sirens), will be eventually targeted by it. To add to that, its lack of requirements makes it a great joker pick no matter your build of choice.

6. Vicious Strike / Vicious Flourish

The Vicious Strike boon.

  • Base effect overview: Your attacks/specials will deal +20/30/40/50% DMG and apply Wounds on foes (the effect will last for three seconds and can be reapplied). The strike applying the effect will also boast 50+ Power.
  • Requirements: None

The foundation behind all of the Ares-focused builds in Hades 2, b?oth Vicious Strike and Flourish will allow Melinoe's attacks to carry more weight and apply the Wounds effect on targets. Although we know their low DMG and the single damage focus of Wounds might make the boons unimpressive at first, don't let that fool you, as the effect was never the star of the show and instead will only enable what is to come.

5. Blood Spree

The Blood Spree boon in Hades 2.

  • Base effect overview: When below 40 health, your attacks and specials will restore 1/2/3/4 HP per hit.
  • Requirements: None

Remember the Aspect of Guan Yu in the original Hades? Blood Spree will offer pretty m?uch the same effect, but better, as Melinoe will be able to use it no matter her weapon of choice. I cannot see a single downside for this boon, as having it at hand can allow you to save your Death Defiances and ?hex stacks for the moments where they will count the most. If you are looking to rock this boon, make sure to also get Mutual Destruction for a match made in heaven.

4. Meat Grinder

The Meat Grinder boon.

  • Base effect overview: Your cast will produce a Blade Rift and deal 30/40/50/60 DMG per second to all enemies within its AoE.
  • Requirements: Having any kind of Ring boon equipped (ex Storm Ring).

A must-have when looking for a casting-focused build, Meat Grinder will add a much-??needed punch to your Cast, all while allowing you to use other top-tier DoT boons like Zeus' Storm and Demeter's Artic Ring. If paired with the Hostile Environment duo boon, Meat Grinder can also allow Melinoe to get access to her own makeshift Impervious Blade Rift call.

3. Profuse Bleeding

The Profuse Bleeding boon.

  • Effect overview: Each hit against enemies afflicted with Wounds will have a 10/15/20/25% chance of producing Blood Drops.
  • Requirements: Having either Vicious Strike or Vicious Flourish equipped

The best boon for those looking to build around Blood Drops, Profuse Bleeding will give you a chance to generate them after each strike against targets affected by Wounds. This boon shines the most when paired with multi-hit weapons capable of generating dozens of drops per Omega move performed ak??a the Moonstone Axe, Black Coat, and the Sister Blades.

2. Sanguinary Favor

The Sanguinary Favor legendary boon.

  • Effect overview: Blood Drops will be automatically drawn to Melinoe. Their effect will also be boosted by 100%.
  • Requirements: Either Mortal Gain, Vicious Strike, Vicious Flourish, Sword Ring, or Stabbing Ambush + Visceral Impact or Profuse Bleeding + either Meat Grinder, Grievous Blow, Mutual Destruction, Blood Spree, or Cut Above

The finishing touch when looking to clear a run through the p??ower of the God of War, Sanguinary Favor will allow you to double your Blood Drop effects for an unholy movement boost. As a Legendary boon, getting this will demand a heavy investment and a lot of luck. I am not kidding, it took me 40+ runs and dozens of rerolls to finally get it.

1. Grievous Blow

The best Ares boon in Hades 2.

  • Effect overview: Foes with Wounds will have a +10/18/20/25% chance of suffering 200% damage.
  • Requirements: Having either Vicious Strike or Flourish equipped

The best Ares boon in Hades 2 and my go-to when looking ?to see huge numbers on the screen, Grievous Blow allows you to massively boost the damage of all of your attacks when striking targets affected by the 3-second uptime of Wounds. I know the proc chance for the effect might be low when below Epic, but believe me, pairing? it with the right Omega moves and DoT cast effects will allow Melinoe to make short work of all Guardians on her path.

The best Ares duo boons in Hades 2

The Coffin Nail duo boon, as shown in Hades 2.

Regarding duo ?boons, Ares has Demeter, Hera, Apollo, and Hephaestus as his best partners, with the Goddess of the Harvest also giving you access to one of the game's best casting-focused boons?. You can check out an overview of each of their duo boons below:

Boon Effect Why it Excels
Universal Donor (Ares + Hera) Your Omega Cast will now follow you on the field and deal 100% more DMG. One of the best duo boons for casting-builds via its massive damage potential.
Universal Donor (Ares + Hera) Melinoe will be able to retain Blood Drops after completing encounters (to a maximum of 20) A guarantee you will start every encounter with a 20% (40% if paired with Sanguinary Favor) strike and movement speed boost.
Cutting Edge (Ares + Apollo) Stabbing Sprint, Sword Ring, and Cut Above will also generate a second blade, dealing 50% more DMG in a larger area. A great source of extra damage. Can only truly excel if paired with Coffin Nail.
Coffin Nail (Ares + Hephaestus) The blades generated by Stabbing Sprint, Sword Ring, Cut Above, and Cutting Edge will follow immediately. Allows you to counter the blades' biggest weakness by stopping targets from escaping them once triggered.

If you want to get a duo boon early on, activate and equip The Queen Arcana Card as soon as?? possible. You can unlock the card by activating any car??ds at the bottom right of the board and then expending 40x Ashes and 1x Tears.

In Verse Piece, a tiny advantage in damage or HP can be the deciding factor in a close PvP fight. And in PvE, more damage means a faster grinding experience. The final step to really maxing out your stats in Verse Piece is limitbreaking them. So, we prepared the following guide on how to get Limitbreak Stones and limitbreak stats in Verse Piece to help you out.

How Does Limitbreaking Stats Work in Verse Piece?

When you limitbreak your stats in Verse Piece, you don't increase their maximum cap or get more stats. Instead, you increase the damage and HP scaling you get from the stats you currently have. You can see how far you have limitbroken your stats by the grades in the stats menu. From best to worst, grades are A, B+, B, C+, C, and D.

  • Showcase of a players DPS in Verse Piece Roblox experience with the limitbreak grade D on their Special stat
  • Showcase of a players DPS in Verse Piece Roblox experience with the limitbreak grade A on their Special stat
  • Preview of the Defense stat being limitbroken to A grade in Verse Piece Roblox experience

When you limitbreak your stats to the max (A grade), you will have around 8-10% more DPS and HP. When I did ?the test??ing for those numbers, I used the following:

Hot to Limitbreak Stats in Verse Piece

To Limitbreak your Stats in Verse Piece, use a Limitbreak Stone from your inventory and select which stat you want to enhance. In total, you will need 20 Limitbreak Stones to max out all of your stats fully. However, your limitbreak priority order should be Sword, Special, Defense, and Combat last. Also, you can't limitbreak a stat above the A grade, so don't worry ??about wasting your LBS.

How to Get Limitbreak Stones in Verse Piece

You can get Limitbreak Stones through three different methods: trading, fishing, and opening chests. Exotic chests have the best chance of containing a Limitbreak Stone, and you can get them by completing limited Verse Piece dungeons. Fishing is the best way to farm Limitbreak Stones in the long run. So, make sure to check out our Verse Piece fishing guide?? and start farming so?me LBS right away.

  • Preview of a player's inventory with some Limitbreak Stones in Verse Piece Roblox experience
  • A player fishing in Verse Piece Roblox experience

If you want to get some Limitbreak Stones in exchange for some other materials you don't need, you can always trade them with other players. To browse the offers of other players, visit the Verse Piece Discord server and search the #trading channel for LBS.

How to Further Limitbreak Stats Using Enchanted Limitbreak Stones

If you want to limitbreak your stats even further in Verse Piece, you will need Enchanted Limitbreak Stones. The Enchanted Limitbreak Stones work just like regular versions of them. However, they are extremely rare. In Verse Piece, you can get Enchanted Limitbreak Stones through fishing, opening chests, and trading.

Another thing you can do to get the Enchanted LBS in Verse Piece is to try and enchant ten regular Limitbreak Stones at the Enchant Limitbreak Stone NPC on Verse Island. Keep in mind that the success rate for this is only 10%, so on average, you need 100 LBS to get one Enchanted Limitbreak Stone.

That concludes our guide on how to get Enchanted and regular Limitbreak Stones and limitbreak your stats in Verse Piece. If you are looking to use the full potential of your stats in Verse Piece, then check out our guides on how to get Sung Jin Woo, Cid V2, and Toji V2 swords.

Among the many companions you can choose from in Avowed, it is eas?y to see how Marius is one of the most versatile. Whether you need a strong rang?er or a good support companion, he will do the trick. Let's see how to build him up to suit your preferences.

Best Abilities to unlock for Marius in Avowed

As you play Avowed, you can collect seven points that you can use to level up the abilities of your companions. You don't have to worry about choosing the wrong abilities or spreading y??our points out too much, as you can easily reset them with a few hundred coins.

With that in mind, these are the best abilities to ?prioritize for Marius:

  • Binding Roots: Immobilize enemies
  • Heart Seeker: Fire a self-guided arrow

Binding roots is unlocked right at the beginning for Marius, and it conjure?s roots that bind enemies in place for 8 seconds. It also d??amages them once upgraded.

Marius' Binding Roots ability
Image via Destructoid

By using it against bi??gger, more dangerous enemies, you can keep them at bay and deal damage without worryin?g about a counterattack. There are three further upgrades for the Binding Roots ability:

  • Constricting Roots: trapped enemies will be stunned by the roots.
  • Grasping Roots: several enemies in a small area get immobilized by the roots.
  • Thorny Roots: the roots deal Bleed Accumulation to trapped enemies.

Overall, the combo of Con??stricting Roots and Grasping Roots can be quite effective for Marius. We prioritize these two but also make sure to get Thorny Roots so we can deal damage to the trapped enemies.

By using Heart Seeker, Marius can fire an arrow from anywhere, regardless of whether he can actually see the enemies. The arrow automatically targets an enemy and also deals ?a good amount of damage.

Marius' Heart Seeker ability
Image via Destructoid

This ability should be prioritized, as it is his best at least if you want Marius to help you during combat. You can further upgrade?? MariusHeart Seeke?r ability by choosing the following upgrades:

  • Twinned Shot: Heart Seeker hits twice in one shot.
  • Sharpshooter: if an enemy is hit by the Heart Seeker arrow while below 50% Health, the damage is augmented.
  • Quick Draw: Reduces the cooldown for the Heart seeker arrow by 33%.

Out o?f these three upgrades, the cooldown reduction in Quick Draw should be a priority, and then also the Twinned Shot ability so you can hit more enemies while using the ability only once.

Marius' abilities, explained

The other abilities that Marius has are Shadow Step and Wounding Shots. By using the former, Marius teleports to a target and slashes them up ??to three times, while Wounding Sho?ts makes his arrows inflict Bleed on enemies, which causes damage over time.

While both abilities have their use, Wounding Sho?ts is better as it pairs well with Binding Roots, especially with the Thorny Roots upgrade.

If you want a look into each perk for this best Marius build, here are all of their abiliti?es wi?th their respective upgrades and what they do.

Abilities What they do
Binding Roots (Core) Immobilize enemies on the spot for 8 seconds
Constricting Roots (Binding roots upgrade) Apply Stun to the immobilized enemies
Grasping Roots (Binding Roots upgrade) Immobilize enemies over a large area
Heart Seeker (Core) Fire a self-guided arrow that hits enemies even when not in the line of sight
Quick Draw (Heart Seeker upgrade) Reduce the ability's cooldown by 33%
Twinned Shot (Heart Seeker upgrade) A single arrow will hit two enemies in a row.
Wounding Shots (Core) Inflict Bleed on enemies hit by the arrows.
Exposing Shots (Wounding Shots upgrade) By attacking, Marius can reduce the enemies' Damage Reduction ability

Best Companion to pair with Marius in Avowed

Since Marius is not the strongest fighter, but can still be a key ally in delivering damage and pre??venting enemies from moving around too much, I recommend pairing him with a strong health support unit. Of course, I refer to the healer Giatta.

Giatta talking
Image via Destructoid

Her abilit?ies couple perfectly with those of Marius. Not only can she provide last-minute healing i??n most situations by using her Purification skill, but coupled with Reconstruction, she will also gift the party passive healing so you and Marius can continue fighting.

If you are playing as a ranger, on the other hand, together with Marius, you can consider bringing along Kai. Coupled with Marius' abilities, Kay's unique skills (such as Leap of Daring) can be the key?? to keeping the enemies' focus elsewhere and dealing damage while they are being taunted.

Monster Hunter Wilds is releasing worldwide on February 28, and the game wi?ll be available in three different editions for the buyers.

The three editions ar?e avail??able at different price points. Since you can only buy one (I have never tried to get two different editions of the same game), you'll have to make a choice.

Let's look at what each edition offers and help you decide which on?e you should go for.

All Monster Hunter Wilds Editions

When buying the? game, you can opt for one of the? three following editions.

  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition
  • Monster Hunter Wilds Premium Deluxe Edition

??The first one is your standard edition, which only includes the base game.

Monster Hunter Wilds Editions

Deluxe Edition

  • Base game
  • Hunter Layered Armor Set: Feudal Soldier, Hunter Layered Armor: Fencer's Eyepatch, Oni Horns Wig
  • Seikret Decoration: Soldier's Caparison, General's Caparison
  • Felyne Layered Armor Set: Felyne Ashigaru
  • Pendant: Avian Wind Chime
  • Gesture: Battle Cry, Uchiko
  • Hairstyle: Hero's Topknot, Refined Warrior
  • Makeup/Face Paint: Hunter's Kumadori, Special Bloom
  • Sticker Set: Avis Unit, Monsters of the Windward Plains
  • Nameplate: Extra Frame â€?Russet Dawn *Deluxe Pack Bonus Item

Premium Deluxe Edition

  • Base game
  • Hunter Layered Armor Set: Feudal Soldier, Hunter Layered Armor: Fencer's Eyepatch, Oni Horns Wig
  • Seikret Decoration: Soldier's Caparison, General's Caparison
  • Felyne Layered Armor Set: Felyne Ashigaru
  • Pendant: Avian Wind Chime
  • Gesture: Battle Cry, Uchiko
  • Hairstyle: Hero's Topknot, Refined Warrior
  • Makeup/Face Paint: Hunter's Kumadori, Special Bloom
  • Sticker Set: Avis Unit, Monsters of the Windward Plains
  • Nameplate: Extra Frame â€?Russet Dawn *Deluxe Pack Bonus Item
  • Hunter Layered Armor: Wyverian Ears
  • Premium Bonus Hunter Profile Set
  • BGM: Proof of a Hero (2025 Recording)
  • Cosmetic DLC Pack 1
  • Cosmetic DLC Pack 2

There's a difference of $20 between each edition and the next variant. The Standard is available at $69.99, where you're only paying for the game. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $89.99, while the Premium Deluxe has a price tag of $109.99.

Which Monster Hunter Wilds edition is worth buying?

While the choice ultimately lies with you, it? depends on one question: What type of experience are you looking for? If you've barely played any of the previous Monster Hunter titles, it's best to stick to the base game. It will take time to work out whether the Monster Hunter games are for you. If you end up not liking the genre as a whole, you would have saved a lot of money in the process.

The Premium Deluxe edition will be perfect for the hardcore players who have invested plenty of hours in the older titles. There are a plethora of cosmetic options available for them to decorate their character. Then again, these are all cosme??tic items that don't provide you with an in-game advantage. Some of these bonuses might be made available as standalone purchases in the near future, according to Capcom.

In a nutshell, the Standard Edition is the most money-efficient way of enjoying Monster Hunter Wilds. If you still care about cosmetics, the Premium Deluxe Edition is the one to go ?for, even if it's the most expensive option.

There are plenty of creatures you can catch in Fisch, ??but landing t??he secret fish is the hardest task to complete.

So far, there are thirteen secret fish that can be caught inside the game, but they can prove to be stern tests. These thirteen creatures are the hard?est ones to catch, and they're not even part of the official bestiary. Let's take a look at how you can obtain them inside the game. Originally, there used to be three ??of them, but the recent updates and increased the total number.

How to catch all six secret fish in Fisch

As ??of the latest Marian's Veil update, there are 13 species to catch.

Fish Type Location Preferred Bait Season Weather
Banana Fish Secret Ancient Isle None Summer Rain
Long Pike Secret Ocean Territory Insects Autumn, Spring Rain
Mustard Fish Secret Ocean Territory Sea Weed Summer Rain
Resin Secret Mushgrove Swamp None None None
Ancient Kraken Secret Atlantis (Kraken's Pool) Truffle Worm None Night
Ancient Orca Secret Ocean (Arch) Shark Head None None
Lovestorm Eel Limited Roslit (Only spawned during Lovestorm Event) Chocolate Fish Winter Clear
Super Lovestorm Eel Limited Roslit (Only spawned during Lovestorm Event) Chocolate Fish Winter Clear
Crowned Anglerfish Secret Abyssal Zenith in Mariana's Veil Worm Autumn Foggy (Night)
Crystalized Seadragon Secret Calm Zone Shark Head Spring Windy
Frozen Leviathan Secret Challenger's Deep Worm Winter Clear (Night)
Magma Leviathan Secret Volcanic Vents Truffle Worm Summer Foggy (Day)
Scylla Secret Veil of the Forsaken Shark Head Any Any

The greatest difficulty of getting the secret fish is their spawn rate. They're not part of the official bestiary, which mea?ns that you're not supposed to find them inside the game. The Banana Fish, for example, is only meant for admins and partnered content creators. Yet, you might get lucky and land one with th??e correct setup.

Thankfully, you don't really need the very best rods t?o land them. You should fully focus on Seas?on, Weather, and Bait, along with the locations. The odds of landing these fish are low, to begin with. Without the preferred setup, it will be next to impossible to catch these creatures, irrespective of your rod and player levels.

The Challenger's Rod is one of the five new rods added to Fisch as part of the Mariana'?s Veil update, and finding it can be a bit of a headache.

In terms of costs, the new update has rods that?? are way more expensive. However, the location of this rod can make you lose a few hairs if you don't know where to look. Assuming you have already got your submarine by speaking with Dr. Glimmerfin, here's how you can find the Challenger's Rod in Fisch.

How to obtain the Challenger's Rod in Fisch

The Challenger's Rod is located in the Challenger Deep, which is the second level of the Mariana's Veil location. If you have a GPS device, travel to the coordinates (XYZ: 740, -3350, -1530). Once you rise to the surface, go to the point from where you can upgrade?? your Glimmerfin suit.

You'll find a tunnel with a portal that will allow you to exit the location. Just take the tunnel and head straight down the path. There are no other directions to take from this point, so continue traveling straight till the tunnel ends. You can use your glider since the ??terrain will be rough. Once the tunnel ends, you'll reach the Ice Fishing Cave.

Once you reach this point, just drop down one level and look to your right. You'll find the Challenger's Rod, which can be purchased for $2,500,000.

Fisch Challenger's Rod

Is the Challenger's Rod worth buying in Fisch?

If you're a beginner, chances are that you won't have the credits to get this rod. If you're a late-game player, however, having the credits shouldn't be an issue at all. This raises the ?question: should you spend two and a half million in-game credits?

Here are the stats of the new rod.

  • Lure Speed: 80%
  • Luck: 110%
  • Combo: 0.20
  • Resilience: 30%
  • Max Kg: Infinite

The new rod is certainly worth the coins, thanks to the combination of 80% Lure Speed and 110% Luck. With new secret species being added regularly ?to the game, it's certainly useful to have high Lure Speed ??and Luck.

Additionally, the infinite weight capacity is also useful if you're going for the weightier species to catch. All things considered, purchasing this rod will be a wise decision considering its stats. Of course, make sure to check out the full Mariana's Veil Bestiary to complete your collection as soon as possible.

Bounties, or Bounty Missions, is one of the several ways you can explore in Avowed to get more resou?rces and improve your character.

The game follows a pretty straightforward system when i?t comes to quests. There's the main storyline, along with additional side quests to participate in. Bounties are similar to side quests in some ways, and you can find them in ev??ery region. These missions are pretty difficult to complete in the first place, but they're extremely rewarding.

How to start Bounties in Avowed

Well, the first step is to continue ??along the main quest line, as it will help you reach new locations. Every location will have a major settlement, and you'll be able to find the Bounty quests there.

Every region has a total of five Bounties to complete, and you can accept them from the board. You'll be able to access the Bounty board as soon as you comp??lete the extended tutorial and get past the Northreach Fort area.

How to complete Bounties in Avowed

Avowed Bounties locations on maps
Image via Destructoid

Usually, Bounties are high-value targets that are located on the map. The task was pretty simple: find the target and defeat them. Bounty targets are highlighted wit??h a blue demon symbol and a glowing ring around?? them on the mini-map.

If you haven't accepted a Bounty, you can still see the location of the targets on the map. You'll get the same rewards as if you hadn't accepted the bounty when you go to collect your reward. Just pick up the bounty at the board, and you'll get an option to tell the bounty master, "I've already complet??ed some bounties." for a little unique dialogue.

While th??e location is displayed on the mini-map, some will be inside a cave or hidden area. However, finding them isn't difficult as you'll have a general idea of the location. Every target will have multiple enemies around them, and I always eliminate the healers first. Your b?ounty should be the final target, as it's almost always better to clear the minions first.

Are Bounties Worth Completing in Avowed

Bounties aren't ordinary side quests, and some of them can be incredibly difficult to? complete. You first have to find t?he target and eliminate multiple enemies. I suggest that you aim to complete as many as possible. In fact, it's best to clear all available Bounties in a given region before you move on to the next.

Completing these missions will fetch you 500 currency, which increases in amount. But you should look to complete them for the unique items. Most bounties have Unique weapons, armor, and accessories hidden at the location. Some of the targets also have valuable items that you can loot once you defeat them. Additionally, completing these quests will help you level up your character faster and unlock new skills. Hence, it makes complete sense for you to accept and finish as many Bounties as you can in Avowed.

All Bounties and their rewards in Avowed

You'll come across a host of bounties to complete once you gain access to Paradis in Dawnshore, and the choices just increase as y??ou explore mo??re regions.

Note: This Bounty Rewards guide will be updated as new information is discovered.

Gift giving is a huge element of Hello Kitty Island Adventure. It’s how you increase friendships and how you get some of the rare resources that can only be obtained from certain villagers. Like men, the best way to a?? Sanrio character's heart is through their stomach.

Cooking Stations allow you to cook a long list of foods, and one of the Cooking Stations unlocked towards mid-game is the Egg Pan Station. It’s located up in Gemstone Mountain, and it’s pretty difficult to gain access to in comparison to the other Cooking Stations in Island Adventure

There are a few different steps to? unlocking and eventually upgrading the Egg Pan Station, but here’s everything you need to know.

How to unlock the “An Egg-cellent Panquest

Rockadoodler Roundup in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To unlock the quest that will eventually lead to unlocking the Egg Pan Station in Island Adventure, you’ll ne??ed to make sure you’ve done the following things:

  • Reached friendship level two with Keroppi
  • Complete the “Open the Nature Preserveâ€?quest
  • Reached friendship level eight with Pekkle
  • Complete the “Rockadoodler Roundupâ€?quest

Having completed the quests mentioned above, you’ll then gain access to a new quest with Pekkle ca?lled â€??śAn Egg-cellent Pan,â€?which will unlock the use of the Egg Pan Station when completed.

How to unlock the Egg Pan Station

Pompompurin at the Egg Pan Station in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

After unlocking the Corral, talk to Pekkle, who will tell you that Pompompurin is very interested in watching a round of Rockadoodler Roundup?. Thankfully, if you’re completing this quest immediately after the previous one, Pompompurin will show up at the Corral itself, making this much easier.

Talk to Pompompurin, and then complete a game of Rockadoodler Roundup by catching the Rockadoodlers as they run past the area in front of the Corral. When your time is up, you’ll be able to talk to Pekkle and then ?Pompompurin again to move on to the next step.

How to repair the Egg Pan Station

Pompompurin has a good idea involving the Egg Pan Station, but it needs to be repaired?? first. To do that, you’ll need the following resources:

  • 10 Ingots

    • Crafted using three Iron, which can be found around Mount Hothead and Crystal Caves

  • 10 Woodblocks

    • Crafted using either five Sticks, which can be found on the floor in Seaside Resort or Gemstone Mountain
    • Crafted using seven Coconuts, found in Seaside Resort, Spooky Swamp, or Gemstone Mountain

Take th?ese resources to Pompompurin, and the Egg Pan Station will be repa??ired and ready to use.

How to upgrade the Egg Pan Station

Gudetama ramen bowl in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Screenshot by Destructoid

Unlike other Cooking Stations, which are upgraded through leveling up friendships with certain villagers, the Egg Pan Station requires you to find 102 individual Gudetama photos (not including the weekly Tophat Gudetama), and then complete another quest called “Five Stars.”/p>

Once you’ve found the necessary number of Gudetamas (wh?ich will require you to fully unlock all sect??ions of Merry Meadows), head back to Pompompurin. He will ask you to cook four Sweet Crepes before handing them out to the following villagers:

  • My Melody
  • Kuromi
  • Hello Kitty
  • Cinamoroll

After doing that and returning to Pom?pompurin, you’ll then be able to use a second additional ingred?ient when cooking at the Egg Pan Station.

There are fifteen possible recipes to make at the Egg Pan Station, including those that requ??ire two additional recipes. Where a recipe can be made in multiple different ways, each recipe counts as a different one within the collections menu.

The main ingredient you need to make anything at the Egg Pan Station is Eg??gs, which can be obtained by playing the Rockadoodler Roundup mini-game.

If you’re trying to fill out your collections menu, then it’s a good idea to cook every recipe that’s listed above, but if you’re struggling with gift ideas for Pochacco (one of Friendship Island’s pickiest residents), there is one that’s ??wo??rth making as soon as you can.

As a lover of all things healthy and vegetable-based, the?? little black and white pooch will accept a Veggie Crepe?? as a 2-heart gift. It’s arguably easier to upgrade the Pizza Oven and make his other 2-heart gift, but if you’ve hunted down enough Gudetamas, you might just get the Egg Pan Station upgraded first.

Moth Girl Chronicles

Collection total: 6 shots

This Collectible Memoir will be unlocked automatically during the scene called "Packing Up", with the first of the shots being obtained as part of the main story. After that, you’ll need to put M?oth Girl in five of the following specific locations and film her to complete the collection:

Scene Where to put Moth Girl
Packing Up On a rock close to the lake.
Double Dare Before lighting the fireplace, head into the attic and put Moth Girl on the ledge.
Kat(hryn) Mikaelsen, 1995 After the interview, place Moth Girl on the Swing.

Water Tower

Collection total: 4 shots

One of the easiest collections to complete, the Water Tower Collectible Memoir, only requires you to film the Water Tower on four separate occasions?. There are mul??tiple opportunities to complete this Memoir, but here are just some of them:

  • While standing in the Movie Palace parking lot
  • Through Swann’s bedroom window, whenever she’s there
  • From the park during scenes like The First Night
  • From the parking lot of the Blue Spruce before the concert

Bullies

Collection total: 7 shots

Bullies clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

This collection is completed with shots that are easy to miss, and you may find that you need to get them by replaying certain scenes, such as "The Day We Met." To get them, you’ll need to choose the confrontational dialogue options with Dylan and Corey to ensure you open up the option to film? them.

Later on, you’ll get the rest of the shots after you’ve been to th??e Abyss. When Corey comes to get Kat, you’ll need to choose to film him, as prompted by Nora, if you want to complete this collection.

Forgotten Playground

Collection total: 6 shots

Forgotten Playground clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

This collection of Memoirs can be completed in it?s entirety during The First Night scene. While helping Autumn find her keys, you’ll need to film the following things around the park to complete this collection:

  • The Seesaw
  • The marbles on the ground
  • The rocket ship slide
  • The jungle gym
  • The animal-shaped bouncy toys
  • The Swings

Graffiti

Collection total: 10 shots

Graffiti clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

This is by far the easiest collection to complete (that isn’t one of the character spotlights), as Velvet Cove is absolute??ly covered in miscellaneous graffiti that can be filmed to complete the collection.

It’s entirely possible to complete the entire collection within the ?first scene, “The Day We Met,by filming the myriad of graffiti in the areas around the Yooper Scooper and the Movie Palace.

If you do miss out on completing the collection duri?ng this chapter, you’ll have ample opportunity to complete it later. There’s also a lot of graffiti around the park during “The First Night, especially if you ?go into the concrete tunnels with Autumn.

Woodland Ruins

Collection total: 6 shots

Woodland Ruins clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

Another col?lection that can be comp?leted within a single chapter, your best bet is to focus on finding Woodland Ruins Collectible Memoirs during the “This Old Houseâ€?chapter. However, you can also find them in later scenes that take place at the cabin as well.

Here’s what you’ll need to find to complete this Collectible ?Memoir:

  • The weather vane on the top of the cabin roof
  • The broken bridge near the cabin
  • The cabin itself
  • The wooden outhouse where you play Bloody Mary
  • The wind chimes in the tree nearby
  • The firepit at the lake
  • The towels hanging on the clothesline near the lake
  • The miner’s gravesite on the trail close to the cabin

Setting the Stage

Collection total: 7 shots

Setting the Stage clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

During the “Riot Grrrlsâ€?scene, you’ll be able to gather up the seven shots that are needed to complete the Setting the Stage Collectible Memoir. Make sure to get all of these shots before you beg??in the show, or you’ll lose your chance.

Here’s what you need to film:

  • The payphone
  • The chainlink fence
  • The satellite dish
  • The boat behind the bar
  • The pile of junk close to the boat
  • The breaker box inside the open room
  • The pickup truck from the ranch

Strangers

Collection total: 7 shots

Strangers clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

This Collectible Memoir can be completed in two halves. The first half of the shots you need can be obtained during the “The Day We Metâ€?scene by cl?imbing up onto the roof of the Movie Palace and filming Dylan, Corey, Nora, and Autumn as strangers before you talk to any of them.

The second set is obtained during the “Riot Grrrlsâ€?scene. When you’ve been handed the stickers to decorate the ?area, head around to the front of the Blue Spruce instead and film the people leaving the bar to investigate what’s happening in the parking lot.

Spotlight: Kat, Nora, and Autumn

Collection total: 10 shots each

Spotlight clip in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

I’ve left this one until last because you’re most likely to complete it entirely by accident. All you need to do is get 10 different shots of each girl, and this can be done all at once or in different scenes. If you want to speed through this, you can si?mply film 10 shots in a row ?as soon as you can.

As Henry reaches the final few quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll get to meet Sam ?or Samuel (if you want to go with his ??full name), being held in a camp.

The main task is simple by definition: find a horse and escape the camp. According to players, you can escape without saving your half-brother. However, it's essential to escape with him if you want to end up with the best possible ending of the game. Let's quic??kly take a look at how you can find him in the first plac?e.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Sam location in Reckoning quest

When you arrive at Praguer's Camp, Henry has no idea where Sam is or what his ultimate fate will be. A bit of a spoiler if you haven't yet reached this point in the game: he has been captured by Brabant. The first task is to get an out?fit from one of the camp soldiers, which will allow you to disguise yourself.

For this?? task, it's best to take the stealth approach as much as possible. There are a couple of ways to get a Praguer outfit. You can kill a guard and steal their cl?othes, but this is the harder way. An easier way is to find chests at this location, which will most likely contain a soldier's outfit. Once you have added the clothes to your inventory, make sure to put them on.

Sam location in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Head to the left side of the camp. You'll come across two guards by an entrance to the camp. To their left, you'll find an opening to an area that serves as a sleeping place for the guards. Head through there and go out from the other side. Then, go right till you come across a gate to your left. At this location, one of the sectio??ns will be closed while the other will be open.

From here, go straight to find the room where Samuel can be found. While there is no doorway, you'll get a ladder by the ba??rn. Use it to get on top, then drop down to find Sam at this location. I did what most other players seem to have done: leave him for the time being and then go back to rescue with him. To do that, you'll need to deal with Brabant, find Von Aulitz, and then get a horse to escape.

As I wrote earlier, you can choose to escape on yo??ur own, leave Sam behind, and save all the silver. However, escaping with Sam will make your conscience clearer, even if it comes at the cost of a few resources being stolen.

BitLife's Impossible Girl challenge tests your ability to balance day-to-day work wi?th crime. There's some luck involved this time, but for the most part, your focus is to find a special best friend, pursue romance, and shatter ?it all in one go.

BitLife Impossible Girl challenge guide

BitLife's Impossible Girl ??challenge has fiv?e tasks to complete:

  • Be born a female in the United Kingdom
  • Become best friends with a doctor
  • Become a baker
  • Rob a bank
  • Murder a boyfriend

If you have access to the crimin??al special talent? from the Mafia job pack, you'll have a slightly easier time robbing a bank and murdering your character's boyfriend later. Otherwise, there are no specific requirements for this challenge, allowing anyone to participate in it.

Be born a female in the United Kingdom

Your first task of the Impossible Girl challe??nge is to create a female character born in the United Kingdom. To do this, choose female as your Gender and the United Kingdom as your starting country. Your name and place are entirely up to you.

From here, your first two goals are to pursue Medical School and become a doctor before swapping to a baker car?eer later in your playthrough. That way, you can knock out two birds with one stone, even if it'll take some time and money.

Become best friends with a doctor

Next up is becoming best friends with a doctor, which you?? can accomplish with one of two strategies: get lucky and find a doctor friend or become a doctor yourself and befriend a coworker. The first option is entirely luck-dependent and can take some time, while the other requires completing Medical School.

Your first option is to get lucky and befriend a doctor. To attempt this, befriend as many people as possible throughout your playthrough and age up until everyone starts getting jobs. By the time you're around age 30, you'll notice your friends have random jobs with a smal?l chance of some??one becoming a doctor. The more friends you have, the higher your odds of this happening. Once you spot a doctor in your list, raise your relationship and change your status to "Best Friend" to finish the task.

?Alternatively, you can go to Medical School, become a doctor, and befriend one of your coworkers. However, that'll make it slightly harder to become a baker, as your full-time job list will prioritize giving you medical careers. Nonetheless, it's another option if you have trouble finding friends through random encounters.

Become a baker

Once you either befriend a doctor or become one yourself, you'll be ready to swap over to a baker job. Unlike the doctor role, being a baker requires no job experience or formal education. You just need to scroll through your full-time job list until ??you see the position.

Screenshot by Destructoid

The ?baker job appears with a "Small Business" tag and a croissant emoji next to its name. Once you find it, apply for the role and pass the interview to become a baker, setting you up for the two hardest tasks of the Impossible Girl challenge.

Rob a bank

Now that you've made a new friend and pursued a lifelong career, it's time to turn things upside down with some crime. First is robbing a bank, which you can do by heading into Activities, Crime, and Bank Robbery. Your options are up to you; the result is the important?? part.

If you fail the robbery, you can restart your BitLife app or accept the outcome and try again later. Either way, once you successfully pull off the heist, you'll compl?ete four of the five tasks of this challenge.

Eliminate a boyfriend

Last but not least, you must eliminate your BitLife character's boyfriend. Your character has a chance to find a boyfriend through random encounters or by visiting the gym, but you can also head into Activities, Love, and Date to get a partner. From here, head back into the Crime tab and?? choose Murder before picking an inconspicuous option like poison or drive-by. Succeeding the attempt will complete the Impossible Girl challenge, rewarding you with a mystery cosmetic prize.

It's best to avoid the SBC unless you're a die-hard fan of Gullit. As good as the card is, it's already below the current power cur??ve. With items having two playstyle+, there are better cards at cheaper prices to consider. The recently launched Guti Fantasy FC SBC offers far better value, and it costs a lot less to complete.

The Fantasy FC Player Pick SBC is a really interesting challenge to consider in EA FC 25 Ultimate T??eam, as it allows you to pick b?etween two promo cards.

The latest SBC features pr??omo items for Emi Buendi?a and Kerolin Nicoli. You can pick only one, but to do so, you'll first have to complete the challenge. Let's take a look at how you can complete the SBC without breaking the bank.

EA FC 25 Fantasy FC Player Pick SBC tasks

The Fant?asy FC Player ?Pick SBC has two tasks, and here are the conditions.

Task 1 - Top Form

  • Min. one Players: Team of the Week
  • Min. Team Rating: 84

Task 2 - 86-Rated Squad

  • Min. Team Rating: 86

EA FC 25 Fantasy FC Player Pick SBC solutions

Here's a set of sol??utions you can use to complete the challenge in Ultimate Team.

Task 1 - Top Form

  • Any 87-rated TOTW item
  • Luana 82
  • Hegering 82
  • Baltimore 84
  • Olmo 84
  • Dovbyk 84
  • Dallmann 84
  • Schmidt 82
  • Hofmann 82
  • Guerreiro 82
  • Grealish 84

Task 2 - 86-Rated Squad

  • Lavelle 87
  • Blundell 84
  • Pajor 87
  • Sommer 87
  • Palacios 84
  • Ruben Neves 84
  • Vlahovic 84
  • Gundogan 87
  • Engen 84
  • Benzema 86
  • De Paul 84

Incidentally, both cards have similar stats and the exact same playstyles+ (Trivela and Quick? Step). My favorite pick is Buendia, as I believe he will have more chances to get upgrades in the near future. Additionally, Bundesliga items will be easier to fit in as well if you consider league chemistry. If you have a WSL-based squad, Nicoli might be the card to go for.

If you have a higher budget, the Guti Fantasy FC Hero SBC offers amazing value even without any upgrade?s in the future. Unlocking the card will grant you a brilliant, creative? playmaker.

Is there any better genre than science fiction? Reasonable people may disagree, but th??e answer is no.&nb?sp;

Sci-fi novels take us out to the stars or f??orce us to confront our pasts or lock us inside the dark cages of our minds. The best novels in the genre can change your life. Here are the 10 best sci-fi books of all time in chronological order.&n??bsp;

The best sci-fi books of all times

Frankenstein - 1818

Frankenstein cover
Image via Penguin Random House

No “best of science fictionlist would be complete without the book that unofficially gave birth to the genre. Some people might not immediately associate the story of Frankenstein with sci-fi, but when you read Mary Shelley’s original novel, all the hallmarks of the genre are al???ready there.

Frankenstein, or a Modern Prometheus, is basically the first speculative sci-fi novel all about how far some men are willi?ng to go in order to pursue scientific discovery. It’s as prescient today as it was back in the 19th century.

While it might be easy to consider it a horror novel, the original text by Mary Shelley definitely veers more into the scientific and the implication of creating new life from the dea??d rather than towards shocking horror scenes or gore.

Dune - 1965

Dune cover
Image via Penguin Random House

When you think of the term sci-fi epic, nothing fits the description better than the original novel by Frank Herbert. This is still a classic for a number of reasons. Dune is ??not just an action-pa?cked sci-fi epic set on one of the most memorable alien planets in the entire genre.

It’s also a dense story about politics, religion, and intergenerational trauma. When his family is betrayed shortly after taking control of the desert planet Arrakis, Paul Atreides rises up agai??nst the planet’s? imperial oppressors, but just because he saves Dune doesn’t mean Paul is really a hero.

While the cinematic adaptations could leave a bit to b?e desired, think of the ultra-weird David Lynch movie or the way too pedantic ??TV movie adaptation, the original novel still remains as powerful as the day it was published.

Anathem - 2008

In today's sci-fi world, the epic is still going strong, and it is often hard to find a stand-alone book that can be enjoyed without having to dive into a 3000+ four-book epic. Anathem by Neal ??Stephenson is definitely one of them.

The young Fraa Erasmas has been livi?ng a separate life for decades, locked in a convent that was made to protect?? certain people, such as scientists and philosophers, from the corrupt world outside. Now, the convent is finally opening its doors, and Erasmas will have to face a new life, along with a planet on the brink of cataclysmic change.

This is a book made to challenge readers with the use of a new language and many uniquely creative ideas that will make it hard to put down. If you are looking for something different inside the sci-fi genre, Anathem will more than satisfy you.

The Left Hand of Darkness - 1969

T??here are few sci-fi authors as beloved as Ursula K. Le Guin. She could expertly shift between genres, and though she’s created some great sci-fi novels, she’s also responsible for the enthralling Earthsea fantasy series.

The Left Hand of Darkness tells the story of a human diplomat named Genly Ai, who’s sent to the planet Gethen to convince them to join his planet’s federation. Ai experiences? extreme culture shock as the novel explores the utterly alien culture of the Gethen people.

Today, The Left Hand of Darkness is even more relevant for how it explored androgyny in science fiction for one of the first ti?mes in history. The author explores how sex and gender influence both culture and society.

Rendezvous with Rama - 1973

Speaking of one of the most influential sci-fi novels ever, Arthur C. Clarke is probably best known for writing 2001: A Space Odyssey, but honestly, any of his novels deserves a spot on this list. I’m particularly fond of Childhood’s End, a deeply?? h??aunting first-contact story like no other.

Still, Rendezvous with Rama might just be Clarke’s masterpiece. The book is set in the 22nd century and begins as a strange alien object enters the solar system. The crew of the Endeavour go to scout the object out,?? but they couldn’t be l??ess prepared for what they discover.

It is the first book in the long Rama series t??hat would span four books written by Clarks and Gentry Lee. The first book was also adapted into several video games, the most recent one being Sierra Entertainment's 1996 point-and-click adventure Rama, which is every bit as weird as its source material.

The Martian - 2011

Image via Ballantine Books

Going to Mars is definitely not a distant possibility and a faraway dream like it was described in many sci-fi books from the 60s and 70s. Indeed, the story that Andy Weir traces in The Martian is more down to earth (pun?? intended) than many others.

When Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars, he did not imagine he might also be the first one to die there. After an?? accident, Mark is alone on an unknown planet, with no way to contact Houston and get? himself back.

It is a story of both technology and also how human beings react in the face of adversity. The Martian also explores our relationship with space travel and its many dangers and perils. While the novel is much more recent than many others on the list, it is already on the way to becoming a bonaf??ide classic of the genre.

Kindred - 1979

Octavia E. Butler’s brilliant novel weaves together the world of 1970s Los Angeles and antebellum Ma??ryla??nd to explore themes of race, power, gender, and love.

The book follows a writer named Dana who finds herself shifting through time, stuck between life with her white husband in California and another life on a plantation with her ensla??ved ancestors. Dana is forced to confront a dark history while trying to find a way to stay locked in the present.

Through the juxtaposition of classic sci-fi tropes such as time travel, with more current topics of interracial couples and the way society feels towards different ethnicities, Kindred remains a current and important novel that is sure t?o spark intelligent discourse and d??ebate.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - 1979

Not every sci-fi novel needs to take itself seriously to tell a great story. Douglas Adams’s The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a tongue-in-cheek romp through a wildly imaginative ver?sion of outer ?space.

After Earth is destroyed for the construction of a hyperspace express route, surviving human Arth??ur Dent is thrust into the universe against his will. The novel’s world is rich with characters and exotic settings, and just about every page will h??ave you laughing until you’re in tears.

If you are looking for a fun and light read, then the original book by Adams is a great place to start with. But if you liked his style, we are sure that you would also love its sequels, especially the continuation of Arthur Dent's adventures in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

Neuromancer - 1984

Neuromancer is William Gibson’s debut novel and the book that really kicked off the cyberpunk subgenre. The story is set in a high-tech, ?low-life future where corporations control just about every aspect of modern life, and cyberspace cowboys are the stars of society’s criminal underbelly.

Everything that you might have seen from the classic cyberpunk vision, from The Matrix to the recent Cyberpunk 2077 game, was inspired by Gibson' seminal novel.

Neuromancer elevates a typical heist plot into an enchanting tale about the birth of AI and how the past haunts people. Cyberpunk has never been more popular than it is today, but the genre’s also never been better than it was in Neuromancer

Oryx and Crake - 2003

Oryx and Crake cover

Margaret Atwood is a masterful writer whose contributions to fiction span multiple genres. Her best-known work, The Handmaid’s Tale, leans into some sci-fi tropes while telling what’s essentially an alternate history story, but Oryx and Crake dive headfirst into heavy sci-fi elements.

The book explores a??n Earth decimated by climate change and other apocalyptic catastrophes, but it’s as touching and human as anything Atwood has ever written. Proof ?that love can exist even in a place that is now a full bio-wasteland rather than the classic dystopic future.

With climate change and catastrophic events now being parts of our daily lives, Atwood's novel resonates louder than ever before. We can only hope? that someone is listening.

Which sci-fi book should I start with?

Sci-fi is a genre that can be a bit intimidating sometimes and even feel slightly dated if you just throw yourself into some classic books from the 50s. If you want to start with a classic that still has maintained intact its original power, we recommend Isaac Asimov's Robot stories and Stanislav Lem's Solaris.

While Asimov might feel a bit dated at times, the stories are all quick and to the point and will be a great way to see if you can be passionate about sci-fi. Solaris is also a quick and light read that will still leave you to ponder questions on humankind and their relationship with space and technology. If you find yours??elf loving them both, then you know you are on the right track.

Also, 1984 by George Orwell is also a great way to move your first steps into an unfamiliar genre since, even though at the time many of its concepts were new, with our society rapidly be?coming more and more dystopic, you will feel right at home from the first few pages.

What are the most influential sci-fi novels of all time?

While many of his books haven't aged as well as others in our list, Jules Verne is definitely one of the most influential authors of all time. He began writing sci-f?i before the term was even a thing, imagining a future where human beings could travel fast underwater or in space.

Edgar Rice Burrows and HG Wells' works are also authors that should definitely be considered highly influential. Again, it would be difficult to recommend something like The War of the Worlds today, and the overall scope of their novels is quite small compared to big universe ??builders such as Dune. Still, their role in shaping how science fiction became accepted cannot be diminished.

Still, despite Verne's influence on early sci-fi cinema and many other authors, it'd be difficult to define any of his books today as cultural touchstones. In that regard, we believe 1984 definitely fits the bill, as inventing the modern concept of the dystopian future and many of its rules and its overall look. Neuromancer by William Gibson is also another novel that would be consider?ed still today highly influential.

What's the difference between the sci-fi and fantasy genre?

Often, the differences m?ight be fewer than one thinks. In science fiction, often the author tries to apply our current understanding of the world and its technologies in order to predict their potential evolutions, along with its consequences and issues. It rarely goes beyond that.

In the fantasy g??enre, usually, there is no realistic viewpoint that the author uses as a base, since the fantasy genre often goes way beyond our present day, looking at ancient myths and classic roles, along with monsters and heroes that first debuted in the Dungeons & Dragons rulebook.

Overall, a good disti??nction between the two genres is that one is rooted in reality, while the other will often deviate from it and, instead, look somewhere else for its inspiration. But there are still plenty of exceptions to this.

Although Marius is at the bottom of the list, his unique strengths make him a valuable Companion, especially for exploration. I've ?relied on his Hunter's Sense Command, pinpointing enemies, loot, and plants nearby. His guiding waypoint ensures you don't miss out on any valuables, specifically with hidden ch?ests.
