CoD world champion rips Warzone devs for taking so long to give players ‘what we want’ with latest update

The wait for Verdansk is over, but at what cost?

The dust has settled after nearly a week of Call of Duty: Warzone gamers being back “home” in Verdansk, and the reception has been largely positive about the experience.

But this drastic of a move back to what used to make the game so great could have been avoided. Top CoD talent are beginning to speak out about it, like former CoD esports world champion and current popular streamer Tyler “TeePee” Polchow.

In a , TeePee lamented the fact that it took this long for Raven Software and Activision to give the players what they have been asking for over the past few years as Warzone features were added and rem🌱oved to result in anღ experience that made most miss the heyday of Verdansk.

“They put all their fucking cards in the Resurgence basket, and it didn’t fuckin’ work,” TeePee said. “And now they’re going all the way back to what we wanted the whole god damn time, a better big-map experience. What the fuck are we doin’? Finally!”

TeePee especially felt scorned by the support, or lack thereof, for battle royale’s Urzikstan map over the past couple of years in favor of the respawn-enabled Resurgence game mode on smaller maps like Rebirth Island or Area 99.

“We had it for too long,” he said. “I don’t even know why they made it. They didn’t support it, they didn’t update the metas, they didn’t do shit. They didn’t care about it.”

Warzone is just a game to most players, but for a content creator like TeePee, a less-than-exciting experience on battle royale (which is how his Twitch channel truly blew up after years of streaming as a CoD pro) could affect the bottom line. But things are looking up with Verdansk, at🍒 least for now.

“Finally they’re figuring it out,” he continued. “Resurgence is fun for like an hour, and then everyone is ready to play fuckin’ BR again. Why does it take us literal years to get what we actually fucking want? It’s bullshit. God damn.”

As TeePee’s friend and Warzone duo Nio said, the streamer was indeed “spitting” when talking about his feelings on the subject. Thankfully, although it’s taken long to get to this point, the slow-paced Verdansk experience has returned and players like TeePee and many others are enjoying themselves again for the time being.
