Cyberpunk 2077 drops to a low, low price at Best Buy for a short time

Now’s a pretty good time if you’ve been holding out

Cyberpunk 2077 recently got a massive update. And if you’ve been holding out to enter (or re-enter) Night City, Best Buy has got a one-day-only deal to get there for cheap.

Over on the Best Buy site, Cyberpunk 2077 is currently marked down to $4.99 from its price of $29.99. That’s for both the and physical versions. While they specify those consoles, both versions of Cyberpunk 2077 can be bumped up to next-gen versions too.

The deal is only available through April 7, which is today at the time of writing. And while that’s a short window, $4.99 is also the lowest price I’ve seen for Cyberpunk 2077.

Chippin’ in

The next-gen update for Cyberpunk 2077 went live in February, with a host of upgrades and features for next-gen console owners. Ray-traced local light shadows, performance improvements, faster loading, and other options all boosted the game up from its launch console versi🐻on.

It was also a free update for previous generation console owners, and still true now. Plus, a five-hour trial also went live for a short time. So if you’re a demo player that’s held out for a deal, the $5 option at Best Buy isn’t too shabby.

Alongside the next-gen update came Cyberpunk 2077‘s Patch 1.5 update. This brought some new gameplay features into the mix, like purchasing apartments and improved crowd AI. Drivers will “panic” in response to danger now, and some citizens will even pull weapons on V if they start something.

It seems like Cyberpunk 2077 is forging ahead, despite the rough initial launch. DLC is still in the works, even as CD Projekt also spins up a new Witcher game. It’s been a rough time in Night City, but now might be the right time (and today at least, the right price point) to hop back in.
