Destiny 2 is getting a Ghostbusters crossover

Wait, is it October again already?

There’s something strange going on in the Destiny 2 neighborhood. Bungie announced on Twitter that an in-game Ghostbusters collab heads to Destiny 2 next week. It certainly isn’t the first time Guardians have seen wo꧂rlds collide in-game, and it seems that the practice is steadily picking up pace.

Destiny 2 has seen plenty of crossover content in the last couple of years. Collaborations kicked off in earnest during 2022, with crossover cosmetic gear from Fortnite and Assassin’s Creed. The following year, partnerships intensified, with a PlayStation crossover bringing in Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Horizon, and The Last of Us cosmetics. Before the end of 2023, players would also see a crossover with The Witcher. Only a few months into 2024, we already saw Mass Effect cosmetics in Destiny 2, with this latest Ghostbusters collab following soon after.

What’s part of the Destiny 2 Ghostbusters collaboration?

The crossover between Destiny 2 and Ghostbusters appears less in-depth than the Mass Effect and Witcher collabs before it. Bungie didn’t show off any Class-specific armor sets designed around Ghostbusters, just equipment. That said, Bungie did show off the cosmeꦛtics up for grabs, and at least a coupಞle are sure to entice fans.

The crossover ship and Ghost shell seem like they’ll be instant favorites for Ghostbusters fans. The Ghost Shell is Slimer-themed, essentially transforming a player’s ghost into the little green ghoul. On the other hand, the ship is styled after the iconic Ecto-1, complete with sirens and all. There’s also a new Sparrow, but this seems like it’ll be less coveted, given the recent introduction of Skimmer hoverboards and because it resembles the new villain from the upcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire film.

Following the track record of these kinds of collaborations, the Ghostbusters content will likely be available exclusively t꧋hrough the Eververse Store. Guardians can get to bustin💖g on March 19, when the crossover and weekly reset go live.
