Well, we made it through the month of November alive. By last count, some 3,784 videogames were released last month (Source: We made that number up). With so many releases, we doubt you’ve had a chance to play them all.

Or perhaps you haven’t played any, and you’re waiting for some late holiday sales or for some of the games to hit the bargain bin. More likely, though, you were waiting for … Destructoid’s picks for November 2007.

Hit the jump for the harsh list, and the final word on what ꧟we th💃ink you should be spending your money on (besides buying us presents).

NINTENDO DS
Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Much of the staff agrees that this may be the best version of Geometry Wars yet. The game contains all of the features of the Wii version of the title, plus you can play it on the toilet. Win. Topher even went as far as to call it “pure, concentrated awesome.” That’s a lot of awesome.

Not your thing? Try … Contra 4

PC
Unreal Tournament III

If you’re longing for seizure inducing, fast-paced first-person shooter action, then look no further than Epic’s Unreal Tournament III. You don’t even necessarily have to buy $6,000 worth of computer to play it; the minimum specs may surprise you. Although it would look pretty sexy if you were playing it on this

Not your thing? Try … Crysis

PLAYSTATION PORTABLE
Silent Hill Origins

“It’s still a good Silent Hill title, despite the flaws,” says Brad, “and it’s an awesome horror title for a portable system.”

Portable means you can play it on the toilet, which also means that when a nurse jumps out at you and you crap yourself, you won’t make a huge mess.

Not your thing? Try … Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus

PLAYSTATION 2
Fire Pro Wrestling Returns

If you’re not familiar with Fire Pro Wrestling‘s long history as one of Japan’s most popular wrestling games, then maybe Return‘s $19.99 price tag might get your attention. Hands down, there is no other wrestling title that provides as many options for customization (rings, wrestlers, referees, etc.), and at its low price point, this is a bargain that you’d be insane to pass up.

Try … King of the Fighters XI

PLAYSTATION 3
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

Gorgeous, action packed, and exclusive, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is the perfect example of the type of title that makes Sony’s console worth owning.

“I expected this title to be an average Indiana Jones rip-off,” says Colette, “and instead found it had clever characters and totally addictive gameplay.”

Not your thing? Try … Rock Band

WII
Super Mario Galaxy

Was there really any doubt? Super Mario Galaxy is likely the reason you clubbed someone’s grandmother to get your Wii, and it doesn’t disappoint. Our own Reviews Editor Aaron Linde called it “the most essential platforming experience yet created,” and that’s even after Nintendo’s check bounced.

Try … Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles

XBOX 360
Rock Band

Some dude who writes for Game|Life calls it “the most fun you can have with a group of friends, large pieces of plastic, and Sting that doesn’t intrude on his tantric process,” and we couldn’t agree more.

We’re a rowdy group here at Destructoid, so it makes sense that we’re bonkers for Rock Band. We have no doubt that well into the new year, we’ll be spending plenty of money on DLC and the necessary adult beverages to fuel long nights of gameplay.

Not your thing? Try … Call of Duty 4

And now, the Virtual Console and Xbox Live Arcade picks for November 2007! Brought to by our resident retro/downloadable title experts from , Chad Concelmo and Topher Cantler:

VIRTUAL CONSOLE
Super Mario Bros. 3

If you don’t know why, we’re worried about you, but Chad does a pretty good job of summing it up:

“The NES classic is not only one of the best Mario games ever made, it still holds up today as one of the most well-designed, entertaining videogames of all time,” he says. “For only 500 points ($5), the game is also one of the best values you will find on any console. The Wizard was right: Super Mario Bros. 3 is epic.”

Not your thing? Try … Vegas Stakes

XBOX LIVE ARCADE
Switchball

“XBLA has done nothing but fail miserably for weeks now,” laments Topher, “but hold a gun to my head and I’ll reluctantly give Switchball my pick. The challenging puzzles, spot-on physics and fun ‘Pee-Wee’s breakfast machine’ level design make it the only worthwhile download during a month when so many great full releases on the 360 are contrasted by so much disposable filler on Live Arcade.”
