UPDATE: Jay Wilson’s to clarify that the tweets about a “failed experiment” taken to refer to Diablo 3 are specifically about Diablo 3‘s Auction House. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Original story is as follows.

Jay Wilson, the director of Diablo 3, is leav🌌🐽ing Blizzard after ten years with the studio.

Wilson has been developing g🅰ames sinc𒅌e 1999 when he joined Cavedog Entertainment, after which he moved to Monolith, EA, and Relic. He announced his decision to leave on Twitter.

“Sad to say after 10 of the best years of my life this will be my last week at Blizzard, and in the games industry,” he said.

When asked to share his next ☂steps, Wilson stated he⛎ plans to move back to the Pacific Northwest to “pursue writing, see if I’m any good at it”, “probably something in the sci-fi fantasy, urba𓆏n fantasy range. We’ll see”.

When a fan added he’d enjoyed the “original direction of D[iablo]3, Wilson added that while he was “glad you liked it”, he “was fully in support of losing it, though. It was a failed experiment. Happens sometim🀅es”.

We wish Jay all the🃏 very best with his next steps!
