Does Fortnite OG have duos or trios?

It's time to make some more friends

Fortnite OG is officially live forever. Although season one of the first chapter will end on January 31, 2025, we’ll still experience a heartwarming nostalgia trip as long as Fortnite’s servers are live. However, there is a catch: you can only play solo or in four-play🐽er squads.

Does Fortnite OG have duos or trios?

No, Fortnite OG doesn’t have duos or trios. At least, not yet. In Chapter 1, Season 1, only solos and squads are available, with ranked “coming soon,” according to an official Fortnite announcement post. Even if you check your in-game queue options, you’ll only see solo and squads, regardless of whether you’re playing regular Fortnite OG or Zero Build.

The tells us all about the return to the past as we experience the game as it was back in 2017. Everything has changed, from the map and loot to core gameplay mechanics. There are differences, like Reboot Vans and modern-day traversal, which are still present, but most of what defines Fortnite OG is here in some way.

Despite the details about solos, squads, and even Zero Build being present in Chapter 1, Season 1, there’s yet to be any mention of duos or trio team-fill modes being added anytime soon. The most likely reason is that only solo and squads were initially available when Fortnite launched in 🐻2017, with duos and trios coming along a few weeks after release.

When will Fortnite OG add duos and trios?

Unfortunately, there’s no set date for when duo and trio team-fill modes will return to Fortnite OG. There’s been no word about it from Epic Games, so it’s entirely up to speculation on when they’ll be re-introduced and whether they’ll ever come back.

Does this mean we’ll never see duos or trios? Not exactly. While we probably won’t see it during the first few weeks of Chapter 1, Season 1 — heck, we may not see it at all this season — there are high odds these two modes will come in future seasons. Fortnite’s launch didn’t have duo or trio group queues, which explains why we don’t have it in this version.

Who knows? Maybe Epic Games will surprise us a couple of weeks into the first season by including duos and trios by lining up their release with Fortnite 2017’s updates. Only time will tell whether we’ll be able to play in pairs or groups of three again or if we’ll have to stick to squads and hope our other teammates can help secure that Victory Royale.
