Survival crafting games are typically enhanced when you have someone by your side to fight enemies or carry your stuff. With Grounded spreading to other platform🧔s like the fungus it showcases, players must wonder if th🦩e game has split-screen co-op or crossplay.
There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that, yes, Grounded does support crossplay for all platforms. But sadly, the bad news is that the game is remaining online and there doesn’t seem to be any indicator that will change soon.
Grounded supports crossplay for all platforms
Grounded is an online co-op game that allows you to play with up to three others on a four-player team. It supports crossplay for every platform, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, with the latter two added to the list on April 16. PC players can𝓀 experience the game on Steam o⭕r PC Game Pass.
But like with most crossplay games, friends across platforms have extra hoops to jump through. Steam players must download the Xbox app and create a profile to play with Xbox players, for example. To play a game with others, a host can start a new game from the menu or choose a single-player world to open up for friends. Once the game loads, the hostಞ can invite players into the world.
Grounded does not support split-screen co-op
Sadly, for those wanting to play Grounded in split-screen co-op, the game doesn’t include the feature. You can only play the game co-op online for the time being. It doesn’t appear that developer Obsidian Games is planning on changing this in the near or distant future. Split-screen play requires a platform to render the game twice. And since Grounded is a fairly resource-heavy game, I’m not surprised that it doesn’t have split-screen on offer.
