Ben Bizzle is an Earthbound fan. His friend James Hensiek is also an Earthbound fan. James has been diagnosed with cancer. When Ben found out about his friends diagnosis, he got in touch with , who in turn got in touch with Earthbound/Mother creator Shigisato Itoi, who signed a copy of Earthbound to beꦐ auctioned off to support James through his treatment. 

That auction is happening tomorrow as part of the , a weekend-long live stream event celebrating Earthbound and auctioning off Earthbound-related stuff for charity. In addition to the signed Earthbound cartridge for James, there’s a variety of other Earthbound collectibles up for sale, with proceeds going towards . There will be plenty of special appearances from members of the Mother/Earthbound fan community, including an live interview with Marcus Lindblom, Earthbound translator/localizer/ Pencil Eraser creator. will be conducting the interview, hot off his appearance on the live Docto🎀r Who 50th Anniversary Special.
