In a move to show that not just the big retailers des🔯erve proper backing from a self-regulated organization that enforces video game ratings, the ESRB announced yesterday that it is partnering with in order to help smaller retailers get the word out concerning video game ratings.

During the glorious month of June, over 10,000 of these establishments can expect to receive packets and signage which can in turn be used by retailers to help further inform customers of ESRB ratings, and in store policies regarding prohibiting the sales of mature rated g♛ames to minors. Per Patricia Vance of the ESRB:

“The ESRB actively supports retailers in their efforts with respect to the sale or rental of video games, and their support of the ratings has been tremendous, as evidenced by the most recent report from the FTC,” said ESRB president Patricia Vance. “Our partnership with national retail outlets continues to be strong, and with the help of Ingram Entertainment we’re helping smaller, independent retailers across the country inform their consumers about the rating system and support their store policies.”

Just in case you didn’t already know this, June has been declared by the and various retail trade associations as the official month dedicated to increasing customer awareness about the rating system, as well as to serve as a reminder to retailers that they should be encouraging prospective customers to make educated purchases based on those guidelines set forth by the ESRB.

Retailers can download more information and additional ready-to-print signage . Consider this one step closer to completely disarming those who w💮ish to attack the gaming community.
