The feature-packed update is set to drop at some point in March🥂, although an exact date is not known at this time. It’s filled with fan-requested elements and expansions to established game play mechanics that players have been♑ waiting for.

One of the most exciting things set to change in the March update is that Calderus will no longer be only accessed via his statue on the farm, but will instead become a fully fledged villager in his own right. There’s no telling what his story will be as of yet, bཧut many fans are excited to find out.

A new seal, the Fire Seal, 🌌will be added to the Mines, gaining access to an additional 20 floors to explore. Of course, this new bio🎃me will come with new monsters to tackle, but there will also be new resources and loot to grab as you progress further down into the earth.

Have you noticed the blocked off area in the far north of The Eastern Road? Well, this is the entrance to the Deep Woods, and players will get the chance to unlock the path to this new area as part of the update. It’s likely that this will be done by completing the new town upgrade quest that’s also being added. You can see a wizard’s tower in the distance from The Summit – are we finally going to get a chance to visit our mysterious neighbor?

Along with all of these exciting new features, there’s a whole host of other tweaks and u🦋pdated included in the March update:

  • Villagers and Romance
    • New “Elsie Gossip” mechanic, which will apparently give gift hints
    • Additional dialogue for NPCs and schedule updates
  • Mines and Dungeons
    • A brand new spell that will likely help with survival in the new biome of the Mines
  • Town and Renown
    • Renown level cap will increase by 20 levels
    • Additional requests added to the Request Board
    • Additional museum sets and rewards
    • New festival
  • Skills and Perks
    • Additional Tier 4 Skill Perks
  • Customization and Cosmetics
    • Players will get the chance to expand their farm, opening up more room for animals, crops, and decorations
    • New furniture and decor sets will be added
    • New cosmetics for both the player as well as animals
  • Miscellaneous updates
    • Players will now be able to have pets
    • Sprinklers will be added (Honestly, this might be the most exciting thing about the March update)
    • Auto-petter mechanic will be added
    • Players will have the choice to adjust time progression to their preferences
    • Performance optimization

With Fields of Mistria set to leave early access at some point in 2025, there’s still time for further updates past▨ the one promised in March. Included as part of the roadmap, NPC Stud🦄io also gave some insight about what we can expect as we move forward through the year.

The l༺ist is as you’d expect and can be seen alongside the March update in the image above, but the most exciting thing is definitely the increase in NPC heart caps and tꦇhe ability to marry and then have children with your chosen spouse. It’s unclear whether the spouse will move into the farmhouse, although it’s likely.

More festivals are also set to be added, as expected, and new Saturdayꦚ Market vendors are coming too, although who they’ll be 👍is already well-known by many players. For the sake of those who are unaware, I’ll not go into details. You’re welcome.

It’s safe to say that Fields of Mistria is firmly nestled within the hearts of cozy gamers ev☂erywhere at this point, an๊d if updates keep coming as regularly as they currently do, it’s likely to only be further cemented as a staple of the genre.
