Set in♓ the world of Kian, the game hosts a variety of open and sprawling areas for players to explore, either by foot, or by air using warp points with the help of a mystical fox-like companion named Enki.

The story stars a woman named Nor, a fighter in a decade-long war whose situation becomes even more bleak when she 💜incidentally releases a multitude of imprisoned Gods across the ﷺland, including Enki, who agrees to help her track down each of the Gods and strike them down.

Developer A44 Games of Ashen fame describes their new title as a souls-lite, featuring the exploration and progression structure of titles in the “souls” genre, but complimented with action that is far more intricate, as players dispose of enemies with a mix of magical spells, swordplay, and vintage firearms in hack-and-slash, combo-heavy combat.

Enki also plays a pivotal role in battle, as every successful hit Nor lands fills a magic meter that, once maxed out, can be activated to allow Enki to prime enemies for critical strikes that can destroy an enemy’s armor or just outright kill them in a single swing.

Abilities can be upgraded on a skill tree, redeeming reputation earned in combat as experience points towards three branching specialties; Powder for Enki’s abilities, Magic for spells, and Steel for physical combat.

For those that are still curious about how these mechanics all work together, a demo is set ♊to release on Steam tomorrow on June 10, 2024. This will take place in a section of the game called Three Peaks and include an additional Possessed difficulty option after ☂completing the first playthrough.

The game is published by Kepler Interactive, but physical copies of the game will only be available courtesy of Maximum Entertainment at a limited l🥃ist of retailers. This physical deluxe edition includes a reversible cover slip, as well as download codes for an artbook, soundtrackꦬ, and a variety of cosmetic costumes and weapon skins as follows:

  • Noble Outfits
  • Vanguard Outfits
  • Champions Outfits
  • Champions Pistol
  • Champions Axe

There is also a digital deluxe edition that includes all of the same digitally redeemable content, all available in only just over a month when Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn launches day-one on GamePa🎀ss, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam).

*Note: This article originally misreported the game as newly announced, when it was previously announced back in March 2022. This has since been amended.
