Fortnite OG is coming back for good this December

Back to basics, for keeps.

Epic Games has announced the return of Fortnite OG, a mode that rolls the game back to its original build — but this time, it’s not going away after a month. Fortnite OG will be available again as a permanent addition on December🌜 ♊6, 2024.

The news was confirmed , following some recent rumors of the mode’s return, in a message posted to X.

“OG is coming BACK and is here to stay,” the company wrote. “Relive Battle Royale from the start and explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive OG seasons. Drop back in on December 6.”

Fortnite OG brings everything back to Chapter 1

Fortnite OG returns the game to Chapter 1, which launched way back in the long, long ago of 2017. Many of us were wee babes back then. Fortnite OG lets players re-experience the game on the original island map . Epic Games first launched Fortnite OG on November 3, 2023, allowing players to get all warm a🃏nd nostalgic until the company ended the event on December 2. The OG version of the game came with a 50-level♛ OG Pass and an OG Store with old-school cosmetics.

Longtime Fortnite fans have a lot to celebrate this holiday season. Fortnite OG is on the rebound, but it’s rumored that Season 6 could also launch soon. While it’s not confirmed, a new chapter in the Fortnite legacy along with the return of OG will make for a lot of happy fans who may soon have a lot less time. But I suppose ’tis the slaying season, right?

Fortnite OG broke records when it launched last year. According to Epic Games, for a trip down memory lane, making it the “biggest day in Fortnite‘s history.” Will that number be surpassed next month? We only have a few weeks to find out.
