Forza Horizon 5’s Retrowave season brings us Minecraft cosmetics, a new radio station, and Hyundai N Vision 74

That's a sweet ride, though.

After the last season’s decidedly Motorsport-tier takeover, Forza Horizon 5 is shifting back into a more fantasy direction once again. This time, it’s all about that Retrowave aesthetic, with the slightest dash of Minecraft-themed blockiness thrown in for good measure. The headlining vehicle, though? The deligh🔯tful Hyuཧndai N Vision 74.

This is, of course, just the latest in a long line of FOMO-heavy time-limited events that Forza Horizon 5 has been running from day one. Credit where credit is due, though, the new cars and other assorted goodies being added as part of the Retrowave-esque Season 34 are rather neat, even if we might only get a few weeks’ worth of time to actually unlock most of them.

Some of the highlights include the N Vision 74 itself, of course, but also the refreshed Lambo Countach, a legendary Citroen, a huge array of neon-encrusted EventLab props, and – unexpectedly – a whole new Horizon Wave radio station, featuring 21 all-new songs. Exciting stuff, that.

Join Forza Horizon 5’s Retrowave season to score Hyundai N Vision 74

Timed as they are, Forza Horizon 5‘s themed seasons sure are a delight to participate in. While this isn’t the first time the game has received a post-launch radio station, it sure is a welcome sight regardless. Here’s just a small portion of the full list of the new songs coming to Forza Horizon 5 with Season 34:

  • Alex Lightspeed: Crimson Sunset (ft. The Neon Syndicate)
  • Com Truise: Iteration
  • Lazerhawk: King of the Streets
  • FM Attack: Elevate
  • Betamaxx: Guided by Moonlight

These (and many others) are bound to set the stage just right as we leap headfirst into the new season’s glowy event schedule. For one, you can only unlock the awesome Hyundai headliner by scoring a grand total of 80 seasonal points throughout Season 34’s four weekly events. Along the way, you’ll also have an opportunity to get a few more exotic vehicles. Here’s the new car reward list for the season:

  • Week 1, Summer Season: Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 (2021)
  • Week 2, Autumn Season: BMW M635CSi (1968)
  • Week 3, Winter Season: Lotus Esprit Turbo (1980)
  • Week 4, Spring Season: Citroen BX 4TC (1986)

As usual, you’ll need to have racked up at least 20 seasonal points every subsequent week to unlock all the seasonal reward vehicles. In other words, if you’re looking to just get all the new cars with minimum extra work required, score the 20 needed points each week, and doing so will get you the Hyundai as well. Also as usual, it’s impossible to tell whether any of these cars will return to Forza Horizon 5 at a future date, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Particularly big fans of Minecraft have got something to look forward to, as well. Playground Games will be adding the Minecraft Overworld and Nether character helmets over the course of the season, celebrating Minecraft‘s 15th anniversary in an appropriate tone.

There are a lot more goodies coming as part of the Retrowave season, too, such as themed car horns, so be sure to check out if you’re interested.
