Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade

Hack and slash roguelite Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade set for April

More content coming to the demo for Steam Next Fest.

Folks looking for another promising roguelite action game to sink some time into can now mark their calendars for this spring. Game Source Entertainment locked in an April 24 launch date for Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade, a stylish-looking actioner that’s on the way to PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Taiwanese indie developer 7Quark is behind the action-RPG, which unfurls its take on the story of the Nine-Tailed Fox in Edo era Japan. Also known as the “King of Demons,” the beast’s arrival upsets the previously-established peace between humans and demons. As one might expect, that serves as a nice excuse for some fast-paced hackin’ and slashin’.

You can see some of that in action along with a look at the main charaꦿcters in the new trailer:

The three main characters each have notable Japanese voice talent behind them. Yoko Hikasa (Minami in Dr. STONE) voices the Demon Blade-wielding immortal ninja known as Shigure. Ayana Taketatsu (Leafa in Sword Art Online) voices Oni Emissary Sara, and Rikiya Koyama (Taiga Saejima in Yakuza/Like a Dragon) voices demon samurai and master archer꧒ Taketora.

Throughout the adventure, weapons can be upgraded, recipes can be discovered, and alliances can be forged with “kind-hearted demons.” Uh huh, we’ve heard that one before. Nice try, demons

For those who want to check it out before it drops this April, a demo is currently available on . It’s billed as an “evolving demo,” so more is on the way in the future. As of right now, Steam Next Fest is the next approaching milestone. Look for the first half of Chapter One, new seasonal scenery, new enemies, and a new boss stage to be added to the sampler platter soon.
