Browse custom games like it’s the early aughts
The Halo Infinite December update is out now, and 343 Industries has added quite a bit. Alongside some shifts to cosmetics and the return of a map, Halo Infinite now also has a custom game browser.
The latest update allows players to flip through available custom games, looking for one they might want to hop into and play. The Halo Infinite browser has fi🧜lters for different options, including the base mꦰap and mode being used.
And as advertises, there are already some solid cꦯustom game creations out there. They range from recreations to some pretty neat ideas like Paintball, and the browser should hopefully make them easier to fi⛄nd.
Falling back into The Pit
Some other additions arrive in the December Update, too. All armor cores and cadet coatings are now free. And Halo 3‘s The Pit returns as Empyrean, which is less fun as a name in my opinion, but still looks like the same ol’ Pit I’ve played plenty of matches on.
The custom game browser is really the major addition here though, as it really builds out the Forge component of Halo Infinite. Forge hit beta in November, and now discoverability for those mod✨es is that much easier.
I frequently get very nostalgic about the days of custom game browsing. Whether it was Halo or something like Warcraft, the server browser was a place where I discovered a lot of cool, fun, inventive ways to reimag🍎ine a g♒ame I enjoy.
Hopefully, this custom game browser gives Halo Infinite a good boost headed into the new year. With the Forge filling out and network campaign co-op finally in, Halo Infinite may start to look more li﷽ke some fans h𒆙oped it would.
