Hello Kitty Island Adventure first major PC/Switch update will add new features and address friendship gripes

Friends, furniture, and Frozen Peaks

Hello Kitty Island Adventure was available exclusively on Apple Arcade for over a year before it arrived on PC and Nintendo Switch, which means that those playing through Apple Arcade have significant💫ly more content than those who aren’t.

However, Sunblink has announced that a major update will be💧 coming at some point in the Spring, bringing the PC and Switch versions more in line with the Apple Arcade version, but we’ll still not be getting City Town or any of the a🍨ssociated content.

However, even thou💧gh we’ll still be locked out of City Town and unable to meet Usuhana, we will get the following requested features:

  • Furniture Stacking
    • Allows you to add multiple items onto a single piece of furniture, including other furniture
  • Call Friend
    • A feature that’s accessed through the phone, allowing you to summon a companion wherever you are
  • Blizzard Peak and Snowy Village
    • Two new areas attached to Icy Peak

The biggest piece of news, and a huge cause for celebration for any new or existing player, is the changes that will be coming to the friendship system. Currently, leveling up friendships with any of the characters above level 10 is something of a nightmare, especially if you don’t have any Frien🅰dship Blossoms or Bouquets.

It can take days to climb even one level, and aꦡs most of the story content and side quests are locked behind this friendship progression, that is hugely irritating.

According to the poඣst shared by Sunblink on the official , the most useful update coming is a boost to friendship building. After the up🍒date, the number of hearts a gift has will always correlate to the amount of friendship XP gained by giving it.

Currently, the system is a little bit bizarre. Each individual item will give a specific amount of XP, with 2-heart gifts providing more XP than the same character’s 3-heart gifts. This can be really frustrating, especially if you’ve spent time learning what each character likes and actually crafting or cooking their 3-heart gift, only for a less valuable gift to gain you moreℱ friendship.

Also, in the Discord post, Sunblink has said that they’re considering adding some more real-time elements to gameplay, such as allowing items to spawn and a𝓰ccrue for up to 3෴ days between collections or the introduction of a new resource that accumulates in real-time rather than just respawning at the daily reset.

Sunblink reminded players that these are only potential ideas and are in no way guaranteed to be coming with this update or at any time in the future. With that said, they’re both good ideas for those who are unable to find time to play daily and would definitely dඣecrease the FOMO and worrying prospect of falling behind or missing out on precious resources.

There is no rele🅘ase date for this update as of yet, alth꧙ough it is coming during the Spring, so we’re likely to see it implemented for free before the end of May.
