Jeremy Renner, who played William Brandt in the Mission: Impossible movies, has now revealed why he turned down the opportunity to return to the franchise. Renner was offered a role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout but bowed out bec🍌ause he did not agree with the direction his character in the꧒ film was heading towards.
Renner was recently on the Happy, Sad, Confused Podcast where he was asked to explain why Brandt was missing in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, w🐎hich came out back in 2018. He said that he declꦆined to return because his character was going to be killed off in the movie.
“If you’re going to do this, and you’re going to use my👍 character, you’re going to do it right,” he said.
♏The actor further explained, “I remember th🦩ey tried to bring me over[seas] for a week so they could kill my character, and I was like, ‘No, you don’t get to do that. You’re not going to drag me over there and just kill my character,’ like get out of here!”
Renner said he yelled at the director, telling him, “Dude, you’re not going to do this to me like that; yo𝔉u’re not going to do me wrong.”
The actor also revealed that he had left the franchise because he wa൩nted to focus on his responsibilities as a father, and it was hard to spend time with the family since the𒆙 filming took place overseas.
While this sounds like Renner 💎is not going to make a return to the franchise, all hope is not lost. He said during the podcast that he is open to returning as William Brandt. However, it isꦏ clear that the role must have significance for Renner to consider it.
