As announced at the Bandai Namco panel at Anime Expo LA, One Piece: Pirate Warriors is getting a fourth iteration.

Somehow the undying anime series lives on (will we ever find out what the “One Piece” is, is it the friends we made along the way?), and in addition to a ton of other video game adaptations, the popular Omega Force Warriors subseries has been keeping on since 2012, when it initially debuted on the PS3. Since then its lept to many other platforms, including the Switch for Pirate Warriors 3, and that arrangement isn’t changing.

Later this year Pirate Warriors 4 will arrive on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. We can probably expect to see more characters and locations (Wano Country perhaps?) from the manga/anime given that four years have passed, which is roughly three and a half seasons of the show. Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised at its longevity given that I play each entry, but this makes it one of the longest running adapted Warriors/Musou series.
