How to access the Cherry Blossom Festival in Coral Island

A lovely welcome to the Spring season.

As with many farming life sims, Coral Island features several festivals for players to partake in. These help give a better insight into the cultu💜res and traditions while providing unique activities.

The first of these featured in Coral Island is the Cherry Blossom Festival. As with its real-life equivalents, cherry blossoms represent Spring’s arrival with these gorgeous trees coming to life and blooming. It’s beautiful to look at and it has some neat activities to distract from the regular pattern of farming and socializing.

You’ll find the Cherry Blossom Festival east of Starlet Town

Reaching the festival isn’t hard, but finding its location took me a moment. It is located just east of Starlet Town to its upper right end and south of the Lake Temple. The best way to reach it from the player’s farm is to use its east exit and keep moving northeast until reaching the Pufferfish building. Then make a right at its south side and keep going until prompted to begin the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Activities in the Cherry Blossom Festival

A few options are presented to the player when arriving at the Cherry Blossom Festival. The primary one is contributing to the potluck by dumping a food item into a giant bowl of soup. Depending on what players put in, the judge’s reaction can range from delighted to disgusted.

This festival’s real draw, however, is the available minigame. It’s called “Balap Karung” and is a sack race where players compete against other villagers joining in. Players need to time their rhythm between hops and hopefully not trip over. Stamina is another concern as the players need to manage that because they will trip over if it depletes.

The key to getting ahead in the minigame is finding a good rhythm and stopping for a few moments when needed. There’s some room for error, but not much if you aim to get the top spot.

Rewards are fairly generous also, giving candied tree seeds if in last place and quintupling that on top ꦍof a healthy cash reward. Players can also try the minigame as often as they want, so anyone can try as often as needed to get the top reward.

Beyond this is a booth selling various pieces of decor and furniture. Since cherry blossoms originate in Japan, everything sold is based on East Asian decorations. There’s also a festival-exclusive player outfit themed after the festival’s namesake.

Coral Island‘s Cherry Blossom Festival is a nice intro to its festivals. The theme is nice, its minigame engaging and rewarding, and it provides a neat way to get furniture pieces at a reduced price.
