There is a surprising amount content packed into Separate Ways, from puzzles to boss fights. Not only are you squaring up against a Nemesis-like foe, but there is even a return of a familiar boss monster for Ada to take down. Yes, there’s another El Gigante boss fight in the RE4 Separate Ways DLC, and here’s how to beat it. Again.
The El Gigante boss fight appears in Chapter 3 of Separate Ways, and the method to beat it likely won’t surprise you. But there is a slight twist. As Ada you are now equipped with her exceptionally handy Grapple Gun. El Gigante may have treated Leon S. Kennedy like a skittering bug to squish, but with Ada he’s facing something more akin to an infuriating mosquito.
Use the Grapple Gun to get around
You start the El Gigante boss fight trapped in the farm area, dotted with several buildings. The beast wastes precious little time going after you, so get close to a building until you see the Grapple button prompt and head to the high ground. This is your tactic: stay on the tops of buildings and at head level with El Gigante. Take aim and fire at his head. When he gets close, El Gigante will attack the building you’re standing on. He will knock down buildings over time, and you do not want to be on one whe😼n that happens. Keep moving and avoid the ground🌺 where Ganados are scurrying about.
By constantly moving around and zipping from rooftop to rooftop, you can delay the amount of damag𝕴e that El Gigante does to each house. Use this strategy to your advantage to ꦰconstantly make use of a high-ground vantage point.
After he takes enough damage, the parasite in El Gigante will burst from his back — now’s your chance for real damage. Use the Grapple to zip around to his back and fire away. It’s best to use a powerful weapon like the SR M1903 sniper rifle or the Blast Crossbow.
Stab at the prompt and keep it up
Keep up the pressure until El Gigante gets stunned and he drops to elbows and knees. A prompt will show up (RT or R2 on controller) letting you grapple onto its back and start fighting like a scene from Attack on Titan. No, really. It’s kind of sick. Ada will drop to the ground after the attack, assuming El Gigante lived through it. Quickly return to the rooftops and do it all over until the massive man drops for good.
Reward after you beat the El Gigante boss
Once you beat the El Gigante boss, you can continue your run of the RE4 Separate Ways DLC. You’ll earn the ‘Giant Slayer’ achievement and 500 CP to exchange for goodies in the Extras Shop.
