How to beat the Feng Tail General in Black Myth: Wukong

This fight isn't bugged (no pun intended). The requirement is just unclear.

The Feng Tail General is a pretty straightforward boss to beat in Black Myth: Wukong, but there are aꦜ few unexplained mechanics when taking o🔯n this massive beetle. To make this boss fight a breeze, we’ll explain how each part works.

Before you take on the Feng Tail General, you want to make sure your HP, Stamina, and Burn Resistance stats are all fairly high. You should also equip the Fireproof Mantle as it’ll be the key to preventing you from lo✃sing this fight.

This fight is morꦦe of a stat✃ check, so make sure your levels are high, and your gear is strong enough to take this on.

The whole mechanic of the “fight” is to simply hold onto the thing as it flies and leaps away to set locations in the Foothills of Mount Huaguo. After three successful jumps, you sh🔥ould initiate a cutscene where you set its antennae on fire, killing it.

However, many players, myself included, have run into an issue where you pass the stat check and the QTE section and still get knocked off

Why do I keep getting knocked off the Feng Tail General?

First, make sure you have over 700 HP, 300 Stamina, and close to 50 Burn Resistance. That’s kind of the minimum needed combination 🐓to ensure you won’t die or get knocked off.

Next, and this is the most important𝓀 step that the game doesn’t tell💮 you.

You have to start this boss at the Mantis-Catching Swamp area. He starts ༺his trail at an area just by here. If you catch him anywhere else in his path, you’ll get knoღcked off.

The Feng Tail General jumps to areas that are out of bounds, e⭕ven when you’re navigating around on the cloud. Because of this, you get knocked off regardless of your stats.

There’sꦛ nothing wrong with button bindings suddenly making your character let go between jumps. Why this isn’t made clearer is beyond me, but this is how to do it.
