Goku Black is one of the more mysterious characters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and his alternat💙e storyline cert🐽ainly surprised me.
Unlike characters like Goku and Future Trunks, Goku Black has only one Sparking episode, and it’s relatively short. Titled Proof of Justice, there are only three episodes to complete. That said, the second episode, named Their Choice, can prove to be a stern test for the players. Not only do you go up against two mighty foes, but your potential abilities as Goku Black are limited. Let’s take a look at how to complete Their Choice episode, which is mandatory if you want to finish Proof of Justice.
How to trigger Goku Black’s Their Choice episode in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Their Choice is the second episode of Goku Black’s Sparking episode Proof of Justice. So the second episode, like the entire saga, remains locked. To unlock it, you’ll have to complete Goku and Vegeta in Act Three Begins. Between the two of them, Vegeta is more straightforward to defeat. Do note that you’ll have to beat both of them within a likely time limit of three minutes. Otherwise, the alternate trigger condition will fail automatically.
You’ll want to charge up Ki as much as possible to land your Black Kamehameha on Goku. Once he’s taken enough damage, dash in to land a set of melee combos, and then land the Godly Black Kamehameha when your opponent has no way to block it.
The first episode of the alternate timeline – Danger Posed by Zamasu – has you go up against Trunks. This is a relatively straightforward episode compared to what’s coming up next.
How to defeat Vegito in Their Choice episode in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Do note that this walkthrough refers to the main ending of the Sparking episode. There’s an alternate ending as well, where Goku Black and Zamasu fuse to defeat Vegito. On the path mentioned here, you’ll have to defeat Vegito as Goku Black only.
The episode begins with Goku Black stopping Zamasu from being too cocky when Vegito appears to face the duo. As both Goku Black and Zamasu rush in with their attacks, they find out that Vegito is much more powerful than Vegeta and Goku in thꦉeir solo forms.
In my experience, you’ll want to avoid trying to overuse the dash – Vegito manages to vanish out of your combos a lot. A key is to charge up your Ki meter as much as possible. Whenever you’ve landed a few combos and created some distance between Vegito, charge up the Ki meter. Unless needed, you’ll want to use the meter only to hit Godly Black Kamehameha.
The typical attack pattern to follow is a set of combos-charging up your Ki-Godly Black Kamehameha. On the defense, it’s best to rely entirely on your vanishing act to get behind Vegito. Sonic Sway should work if timed correctly, but I felt uncomfortable letting my opponent get too close in this battle.
Once you’ve defeated Vegito, Goku and Vegeta will appear, shocked that the effect has worn off. But they will be saved by Trunks, who gets struck down by Zamasu and Goku Black. This will lead you to the final episode, where you go up against Goku and Vegeta. I failed several times trying to beat Vegito, so don’t be disheartened if your first few tries don’t work out well.
