In your quest to rid yourselves of the terrifying mind flayer parasites in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll undoubtedly encounter a number of tough battles. When things get rocky between those battles, you’ll want to stop and take the load off at camp. But how do you find and set up your camp in Baldur’s Gate 3?
There’s no place like a BG3 camp
To access your camp, press the R2 trigger (on PS5) or press the corresponding button (on PC). You’ll instantly transport to camp, which is considered a safe space. No enemies can find you once you’re here. You’ll be able to chat with and romance allies waitꦯing here, making this pseudo-pocket dimension the best place for character growth and development.
If you are desperately in need of healing, opt for a Long Rest. It restores your party’s HP and spell slots, but you’ll also instantly fail any time-sensitive quests. It’s good to note that you can take a Short Rest, too. This is also possible outside of camp, but only for a limited number of times before you must return to Long Rest. And don’t forget, you’ll need a healthy stack of Camp Supplies for those lengthier stays.
Baldur’s Gate Extreme Home Makeover
In your camp, you might notice some large, empty rooms that seem like they’re not being used for anything in particular. It’d seem these rooms are perfect for your🌌 inner interior designer. You can decorate these rooms — in addition to anywhere else in your camp — by opening your inventory, selecting an item, and choosing to ‘Drop Item.’ You can also choose to ‘Throw’ the item, but it will take some damage (or break) 𒁃once it hits the ground. It’s not an ideal decor solution, but it suffices.
The camp also hosts your Traveler’s Chest, a bottomless storage solution for the countless items you’ll pick up in your journey but don’t need to hold onto. However, there’s no need to return to camp to send items to this cache. Simply open an item’s actions and select ‘Send to Camp’.
Your Baldur’s Gate 3 camp is also where you’ll find two systems to help you change your custom character. There’s the Magic Mirror, which can change yoཧur character’s appearance,🧸 and Withers, a wraith that changes your character’s class or revives deceased party members in exchange for gold.
In any case, your camp will almost certainly come in handy when you barely survive those battles that you honestly shouldn’t have won but did anyway by sheer force of will. It’s worth stopping by to relax, or just to stop and chat with the gang for unique conversations. So heal up, and get back out there!
