Throne and Liberty’s Abyssal Contract quest is a tricky C🧸hapter Four mission involving defeating certain enemies, following a soul through dangerous areas, and eliminating a mini-boss called Circe. Fortunately, there are a few tricks you can use to make the process slightly easier.
How to complete the Abyssal Contract quest in Throne and Liberty
There are three parts to completing the Abyssal Contract quest in Throne and Liberty:
- Defeat the Soul Arbiter in Carmine Forest
- Follow the Soldier’s Soul
- Defeat Circe
Defeat the Soul Arbiter in Carmine Forest
The first part of the Abyssal Contract quest is defe🤪ating the So꧒ul Arbiter in Carmine Forest. Soul Arbiter enemies are scattered throughout the area, giving you several opportunities to eliminate one.
Syleus’ Undead Soul Arbiter enemies appear as blue humanoid apparitions that roam around Carmine Forest. Although they can spawn anywhere, I quickly found a few near the Carmine Forest waypoint. Occasionally, you can spot them near the clearings where Queen Blood Spiders appear.
Soul Arbiters aren’t initially hostile, so you can initiate some quick surprise attacks on them to take out a chunk of their health. If you’re above level 20, you might even be able to defeat them instantly with just a few skills.
Follow the Soldier’s Soul
Once you eliminate a Soul Arbiter, it’ll turn into a blue soul that leads you through Carmine Forest. Although this journey takes a couple of minutes, it’ll eventually bring you to the entrance of the Syleus’ Abyss dungeon.
Don’t worry too much about leaving at this point. As long as the soul made it to the dungeon and you have the defeat Circe task active, you can teleport or run straight there and finish up the Abyssal Contract quest without any issues. In rare cases, you may have to quickly defeat another Soul Arbiter and repeat the process, but this shouldn’t break the quest.
Defeat Circe at Syleus’ Abyss
The last part of the quest is defeating Circe at the Syleus’ Abyss dungeon. If you don’t see Circe right away, there’s a chance another player defeated her. Fortunately, her respawn timer is around one to two minutes, so you won’t have to sit around long.
Circe is a level 19 Elite enemy with over 5,800 health. The fight is fairly simple, as she only has one ranged and melee attack. If you damage from a distance, she’ll launch fireballs at you that do some damage. From melee range, she’ll swap to a claw attack. Although she can inflict some hefty damage to lower-level players, you should be fine if you have some spare World Tree Leaves or health recovery items on hand and enough damage skills to quickly eliminate her.
Once you defeat Circe the Syleus Witcಌh, return to Rutaine to finish up the quest, rewarding you with t♔hree rare active and passive skill growth books.
