How to fix Destiny 2 error code Weasel

The most common and annoying error of The Final Shape.

Destiny 2 has more than its fair share of error codes, and most of them tend to pop up around the launch of major expansions like The Final Shape. Reaching The Pale Heart has been a bit of a pain because of these errors, and it’s unlikely that will change as Episodes are introduced.

There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to log into Destiny 2 and being confronted with an error screen. Except when you restart, and you get yet another error code, both of which are as unclear as each other. One of the most common error codes in the game is the Weasel error. There are simple potential fixes for this error and more complicated ones, but ultimately, you might be at the mercy of Bungie’s server bandwidth.

To fix the Weasel error code in Destiny 2, you need to double-check your device’s connection to the internet. This error is a bit of a catch-all for networking issues, so if you’re having any trouble on your end, it might make the error appear repeatedly.

Ensure your connection over wi-fi or ethernet is solid, then restart your device. I find that a hard restart, turning the device off and on again, usually does the trick. If that doesn’t work, you might need to restart your router to kickstart your wi-fi and clear out any issues affecting the game.

As I mentioned above, the Weasel error code in Destiny 2 is a general networking error. It pops up when the game is experiencing issues connecting to its servers, be that on your end or on Bungie’s. It’s difficult to know where the problem lies, but if you know that your internet connection is sold and working on other devices, you can check the to see if any known errors have cropped up.

The Weasel error tends to pop up frequently around the launch of a new expansion or season in Destiny 2. If🌳 I see it, I usually drop out of the game and come back an hour or two later because hammering the servers with more players won’t solve anything. Bungie will need time to alleviate stress on its servers, which means making players queue to get into the game or kicking some out so things can level out.
