A useful weapon

The Magic Rod in Tears of the Kingdom can help you freeze enemies on the spot or electrocute them until they’re faded from existence. However, it can be a little cryptic on where to find one. Look underground and gather as many Poes as you can get (you’ll want to get 100). When you have enough, here’s where to find the Magic Rod in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to find a Magic Rod in Tears of the Kingdom

To get to the Magic Rod in Tears of the Kingdom, you must head underground into the depths. That is because the Bargainer Statues live in this little-known area of Hyrule. In the Lookout Landing area, go to Josha. You’ll see a rock with a face on her right. Talk to it, and it will begin to discuss Poes. Choose the “Brethren location” option and it will tell you where to find a Bargainer Statue. Its location will be marked on the map. The first will cost 10 Poes, but other brethren locations will be 100 Poes afterward. Thankfully, you won’t need to use any rupees.

Find the Stakijat Lightroot location, and then head northeast to find the Plains Bargainer Statue. It’s also northeast of the Great Abandoned Central Mine and southeast of Nisoji Lightroot. You’ll see a face in the rock hidden within some tree roots. Speak to it, and the Bargainer Statue will begin to sell you some objects for Poes.

How much is a Magic Rod?

You can buy a Magic Rod by collecting 100 Poes for the Plains Bargainer Statue. They are white ghostly objects that can be picked up from the ground. Some Poes you collect can be from larger objects highlighted with green and pink smoke. You can also pick up the Dark Tunic from this location.

How do you make a Magic Rod magical?

When you pickup the Magic Rod, you’ll realize that it’s only a blunt melee weapon. However, if you fuse the correct stone, you’ll be able to cast magic with it. Rubies help you cast fire magic, while Topaz can unleash three balls of electricity toward your foes. Opals, which can be found at the Bottomless Cave on Great Sky Island, send out water orbs. To freeze all enemies around Link, fuse a Sapphire to the Magic Rod.

If you’d like some light in the Depths, Star Fragments help illuminate the way; those can be picked up by fallen mete༺ors. Most of these resources can be found by breaking shiny rocks within caves.
