Diamonds are one of the rarest and most resources in Stardew Valley, and they can be quite hard to find. If you want to build a stockpile of Diamonds, or start using the resource, you’ve got several options.
There are a few different ways to get Diamonds in Stardew Valley, but most of them are far from guaranteed. Whether you want to get a do-over with Grandpa’s Evaluation, or𝓰 a gift that’s sure to score Friendship points, ൩here’s how to get Diamonds and how to use them.
From mining to festivals, here’s where to find Diamonds in Stardew Valley
Diamonds may be hard to find, but there are plenty of opportunities that may give you som💝e. Some of these are far more guaranteed than others, and others will only be🌱 available in the later stages of a playthrough.
Nodes, Festivals, and Fishing resources for Diamonds
- Gem Nodes in the Mines, Skull Cavern, the Quarry, or the Volcano Dungeon
- Diamond Nodes, which can be found in the Mines on any floor below floor 50
- After reading the ‘The Diamond Hunter’ book, you have a 0.66% chance to find a Diamond in any rock which can be mined
- Can be found in Metal Crates in the Volcano Dungeon
- Dropped by the following Monsters in the Mines:
- Red, Purple, Copper, or Iron Slime
- Dwarvish Sentry
- Duggy
- Iridium Golem
- Wilderness Golem
- Once you’ve reached the bottom of the Mines, any Monster within the Mines has a 0.05% chance to drop a Diamond when killed
- Once you’ve reached the bottom of the Mines, you have a small chance of finding Diamonds in any Garbage Can
- Can be found in regular or golden Fishing Chests
- Can be found while Panning in any area
- One Diamond can be won as a prize at the Trout Derby
- Five Diamonds can be obtained as the 20th prize in the Prize Machine
- Ice Pip or Stonefish Fish Ponds have a chance to produce Diamonds if there are at least nine fish in the pond
- The Statue of Endless Fortune has a 25% chance to drop a Diamond on any day, and is guaranteed to give a Diamond on the following NPCs birthdays:
- Evelyn
- Gus
- Maru
- Jodi
- Krobus
- Marnie
- Willie
How to use Diamonds in Stardew Valley
Diamonds can be sold for 750 Gold each, or 974 Gold if you have the Gemologist profession. They are the most expensive gem available, so if you have a Crystalarium, you can make an easy profit by duplicating Diamonds. Diamonds are also a l🌃oved or liked gift for every villager, so you’re guaranteed to get a positive response if you give the gem as a gift.
Grandpa’s Shrine
You can use a Diamond in Grandpa’s Shrine to have him re-evaluate you if you d𓂃idn’t manage to get four candles lit on🐲 the shrine the first time around. Once you get four candles, you’ll get a Statue of Perfection.
Bundles and Quests
You can use one Diamond as part of the Treasure Hunter’s Bundle 🍰in the Boiler Room♍ (Remixed).
In terms of quests, after you’ve reached floor 40 of the Mines, a Diamond can be requested at any time at the Help Wanted Board. The reward for completing this quest is 2,250 Gold and 150 Friendship points. One can also be requested by the Raccoon as part of the fifꦦth request or any made after.
Crafting
Diamonds can be used in the following recipes:

Tailoring
A Diamond can be used in the spool of a Sewing Machine t𒁏o create a dyeable Pendant Shirt. It’s also classed as a white dye when used in the spool of a Sewing Machine.
Trading
Diamonds can also be exchanged with a couple of NPCs to get some items. The Desert Trader gives you one Triple Shot Espresso in exchange for one Diamond, while the Volcano Dwarf on Ginger Island sells you the ‘The Diamond Hunter’ book for 1▨0 Diamonds.
