Filling up your Pokédex in Scarlet and Violet’s first DLC, The Teal Mask, requires you to evolve a few Pokémon in unconventional ways. Feebas, for example, only evolves when it’s traded while holding a Prism Scale, which is a rare item in the game. If you want multiple Milotic, Politoed, or similar Pokémon or would like to save your items for a shiny version of t🔴hemꦡ, you can instead catch them directly.
Here’s how to catch fully evolved Pokémon in The Teal Mask and get closer to completing your Kitakami Pokédex.
Catching fully evolved Pokémon in The Teal Mask.
You can catch fully evolved Pokémon like Milotic, Politoed, and Sinistcha by defeating them in Tera Raids around Kitakami. These Pokémon only appear in five and six-star Tera Raids, which means you must at least complete all story paths in Scarlet and Violet—Victory Road, Starfall Street🐎, and 🎐Path of Legends.
You can do that either in Tera Raids you host yourself or in those you join locally or online. If you join online 𓆏Tera Raids from players who own a different game version than yours, you can also catch version-exclusives like Gliscor and Ambipom.
I highly recommend you look for these Pokémon in online Tera Raids instead of roaming around in your game. You will likely find them a lot faster online since every refresh in the online Tera Raids screen shows eight raids at once. Meanwhile, if you host these yourself you’d need to check every crystal, one by one, to find the Pokémon you want. And they might not even be there that day, which would force you to wait for the next day to refresh your game’s raids.
How to join The Teal Mask online Tera Raids
To look for t♑hese evolution Pokémon online in Tera Raids, follow the exact steps below:
- Press X to open the Main Menu.
- Select “Poké Portal” and press A to open a new window.
- Select “Tera Raid Battle”, the second item on the left menu in the Poké Portal screen. Press A to open the next window.
- If you’re not connected to the internet yet, Press L to do so and wait until you’re online.
- Select the Pokémon you want on the screen and press A. You must be familiar with their silhouette, as this is how the game shows them.
- If the Pokémon you want is not listed, wait until the “Check for new postings” button on the bottom right is a solid blue, then press X to refresh the list. My game lets me check new raids once every minute and a half.
- If you fail to join the raid at first, try again. I like to try to join three to five times before I give up and refresh the list.
- Select the Pokémon you want to use in the Raid. Five-star raids have Level 75 opponents and six-star raids have Level 90 opponents.
- Defeat the Pokémon to catch it.
