Fezandipiti is the bird Pokémon from the Loyal Three in The Teal Mask that’s actually not a bird. It’s a Poison and Fairy dual-type legendary, and even though it’s always flying, these are its types. You fight it twice in the Scarlet and Violet DLC, once to beat its Titan form and another to either beat it for good or try to catch it. Since it’s a legendary, I highly recommend you catch it since it’s your only shot at it.
You can’t miss your first encounter with Fezandipiti if you’re playing through The Teal Mask’s story. However, you can only catch it after you beat the story, capture or defeat Ogerpon, and say farewell to all the friends you made in your adventure. Then, you’ll be ready for the fight where you can actually catch it.
Here’s how to navigate all fights against Fezandipiti in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Teal Mask.
How to easily defeat Fezandipiti in the story
Use Bisharp or Kingambit with the Iron Head move to beat Fezandipiti quickly. These Pokémon types are Dark and Steel, which makes them immune to Fezandipiti’s poison from its Toxic Chains ability and lets them deal a lot of damage to it with a super-effective Steel move. The only downside is that they take normal damage from Fezandipiti’s Dazzling Gleam, which can hurt quite a lot.
An alternative is to use Iron Treads, which also deals super-effective damage to Fezand𝔉ipiti with Ground-type moves▨ like Earthquake and is immune to poison thanks to its Steel typing. In this case, Iron Treads resists Dazzling Gleam.
Otherwise, you can try hyper-aggressive Pokémon that deal physical Psychic damage, like Ceruledge’s Psycho Cut. Yes, it must be physical damage because Fezandipiti has an extremely high Special Defense. Avoid bringing Dragon-type Pokémon to this fight at all costs, as they take super-effective damage from Fairy.

Where to find and catch Fezandipiti
You can find and catch Fezandipiti on the other side of the Chilling Waterhead in Oni Mountain, exactly where you battled its Titan Form. It will only spawn there after you beat The Teal Mask‘s story.
To catch Fezandipiti, paralyze it, reduce its health until it’s red, and use Ultra or Timer Balls. In my case, I used Magnezone wit൲h Thunder Wave to paralyze it, used Thunderbolt a few times to reduce its health, and then threw some Timer Balls at it.
The only offensive move Fezandipiti knows in this fight is Beat Up, which is a weak Dark-type attack at this point. If you’re struggling, consider using Grimmsnarl with the ability Prankster and the move Taunt, which it can learn via TM087. Taunt will lock Fezandipiti out of non-damaging moves, forcing it to use Beat Up on Grimmsnarl, which resists the move twice thanks to its Dark/Fairy typing. It should give you plenty of time to catch Fezandipiti without having your party wiped.
In my game, I caught Fezandipiti with a Timer Ball after six attempts aroun🔯d 📖turn nine.

Best Fezandipiti moveset
These are my recommended moves to use in Fezandipiti considering its high Sp. Def. and dec🐬ent Attack.
- Gunk Shot
- Play Rough
- Tera Blast
- Roost
Gunk Shot and Play Rough take advantage of Fezandipiti’s decent Attack stat, while Roost lets it recover HP after surviving big hits, improving survivability. Finally, Tera Blast gives it extra coverage depending on what Tera Type it’s using.
