How to acquire the Max Safety Shoes in Persona 3 Reload

Run a tab with Tanaka

Elizabeth, the Velvet Room assistant in Persona 3 Reload, wants🥂 to learn a little more about the human world. This time, she asks you to get Max Safety Shoes. You can acquire these two different ways, with one cheaper but time-sensitive or expensive but convenient, so here’s what you need for Request #40.

Elizabeth Request #40: I’d like to see a pair of Max Safety Shoes

Screenshot by Destructoid
  • Task: Bring 1 pair of Max Safety Shoes
  • Deadline: None
  • Reward: (3) Twilight Fragments + Max Safety Shoes
  • There are two ways to get them: purchase them via Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities on 7/12 for ¥9,800 or Shady-Looking Man in Port Island Station for ¥20,000

As the Fashionable Item request showed, Elizabeth is all in on being as trendy as possible, so of course she wants in on the latest craze: Max Safety Shoes. She doesn’t want to wear them, she just wants to see them. It’s kind of like when you go window shopping. It’s way too expensive to buy, but it doesn’t hurt to take a gander.

There’s no deadline for this request, so you can do it whenever you want. It unlocks for the player on July 9 (7/9), which lands after defeating the Hierophant and Lovers Arcana bosses on July 7 (7/7). If you want to get the shoes cheap, I’d get on it immediately. I’m far into the game and still use them, as they have 49 Evade and a +50 HP bonus, which is nice for entering Yabbashah.

Two ways to get the Max Safety Shoes

1. Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities on TV on 7/12

This is the cheapest way to get the Max Safety Shoes, though you need to remember the date: 7/12. It’s a Sunday, which is usually when social links will contact you to hang out. It’s before the Final Exams, so you won’t have to worry. However, you need to interact with your room’s TV and watch Tanaka’s Amazing Commodities. He’ll usually have some good deals and, this time, it happens to be the Max Safety Shoes (with 2x Instant Curry). It sells for ¥9,800, which is a great deal.

2. Shady-Looking Man at Port Island Station after 7/19

If you happen to miss the airing, don’t worry! Starting on 7/19, you’ll see a Shady-Looking Man at Port Island Station. He’ll be right outside the Screen Shot theater and near the benches. He also has a blue exclamation point over his head, so talk to him and he’ll offer you the Max Safety Shoes for ¥20,000. It’s a lot of money, so try to gain some in Tartarus or work at Chagall Cafe Monday-Wednesday nights or Screen Shot on Sunday mornings.

However you get the Max Safety Shoes, show them to Elizabeth and she’ll reward you with x3 Twilight Fragments.
