How to get old vaulted legendary & exotic weapons in Destiny 2

Do you feel lucky, guardian?

Recommended Videos

Destiny 2 is always stuffed to the brim with exotic weapons and armor for players to grind for. However, you usually have to time things just right, (and get lucky, more often than not,) if you want to unlock the exotic item you’re looking for. However, as is a live service game with rotational content offerings, it’s quite possible to find yourself in a position where the weapon you’re looking for might no longer be available in-game via the usual unlock methodology. So how do you access old vaulted content? (Thankfully, it’s not too difficult.) Let’s talk about the Monument to Lost Light.

Returning to the Tower…

The best way currently to resolve this dilemma is to travel to the Monument of Lost Light. You can find this by going to your “Destinations” menu, and selecting the Tower. As with travel to any other destination, this will trigger a loading screen. Once you find your character materializing into place in the spawn area of the Tower, you will need to walk over to the vault access area built into the wall across from you. Interacting with the Monument of 🎃Lost Light will cause an interface to pop up on your screen, displaying what exotics are currently accessible within the vault. This is where the real fun begins.

Delving into the vault…

A reasonably vast array of weapons will be available here for the player to craft, assuming you have what it takes. The player will need to pay out a fairly high sum of collectable resources in order to collect the weapon they desire. The exact requirements vary greatly from weapon to weapon, although there are usually a few basic common requirements. The player will ne﷽ed:

  • At least 100,000 glimmer.
  • Legendary Shards.
  • 1 Exotic Cipher.
  • Ascendant Shards.

Some Restrictions Apply…

It’s worth noting that many (although not all) of the weapons featured here are tied to specific DLC expansions, so if the player does not own said expansion, they will not be able to craft the wea▨pon even if they do meet the crafting requirements listed. As for which weapons the player should craft, each weapon has its own stat🅘s and associated mechanics that lend themselves well to specific playstyles. It is highly recommended that the player do a bit of research on the weapons they’re potentially interested in before committing to crafting any specific one. The last thing you want to do is find yourself having crafted a weapon that you soon find doesn’t fit your preferred playstyle.

Vaulted exotics aren’t the only things you can find lurking in the depths of the Monument of Lost Light, so if you’ve already got your bases covered on that front, you can alwa♔ys turn your attention to similarly old pinnacle and ritual weapons. Whatever type of weap🦄on you’re looking for, you can rest assured that the Monument of Lost Light will be there, ready to serve.
